Hi Folks! Comgratulations, Mesh. Just don't start writing a textbook, any time soon, LOL! But seriously, here's some advice from one computer graphics teacher to another: your value increases dramatically if you can demonstrate solid skills in writing, especially writing grant proposals. There's a lot of government and corporate money available in the U.S. to teachers who can write proposals to develop innovative technology programs in schools and colleges. Good luck! Peter (Dr Zik)
Congrats! I've taught Computer Aninmation in the past, we are finally upgrading the program here (in the Community College where I work my 'real" job) to PCs and Max 4.0. I think my reccomendations had a lot to do with it. Previously, we had Strata on Macs, while it is a nice program it is a little light-weight, and few use it in industry. We have come full circle, originally we had Alias on SG workstations, but nobody has been good enough on grant applications for a long time to keep that level going, and it was also a bit much to teach in a two year school. Anyway, I'm working on getting them into Poser too, I'd even teach that one!
Hi Folks! Jim, you're gonna have to let me in on your secret! How do you find time to come up with such fantatastic stuff and teach? My digital artwork isn't as good as it could be because I put so much time and energy into my classes. (Of course, I'm also holding down another job, deejaying on weekends, designing web pages and a freelance, etc, LOL!!) We should start a thread to see who else is actually teaching the software we use. I started out with a DTP course, slowly working in 3D design projects. I started teaching 3D with Infini-D, Bryce and Poser on Power Macs a two years ago--and at about the same time MetaC orphaned the programs. Next year I'm planning to move the class into Inspire 3D--which is probably as close as the school will let us get to Lightwave. I may also take another look at Carrera, especially now that it features NURBs. Again, congrats, Mesh! Look into opportunities for funding! Peter (Dr Zik)

I excepted a teachers assistant position to introduce students to 3d geometry,3d concepts and 3d tools and workspaces of the leading top 3d programs in the market and how 3d design can be used professionaly in the computer industry. I recommended poser 4 and world builder pro pack and several modeling programs the school will look into purchasing.
