Is it just my imagination or is there a serious lack of extra content for Carrara? There are a few scene packs at DAZ .. and a couple odd freebies here and there. Does it not have a following like Poser, is that why there isn't much out there??

 Well, there's an entire CD worth of content and shaders that comes with Carrara. If  you downloaded Carrara, the Content CD is actually a separate download.

And another 27? other freebee items, as well!, to add into Carrara/Carrara Content stuff!

Recheck the stuff in your DAZ downloads access.

stonemason has one that is DS, poser and has Carrara shaders.  Of course some just count on the fact that it can load the other content as well.

If you mean, there appears to be less Carrara specific content, then you are correct. If by content you mean figures, conforming clothes and architecture; then I'd say most of the items made for Poser and Daz Studio can be used in Carrara. Carrara 7 has improved content support, over Carrara 6. The beauty of this is, you can create realistic 3d environments, terrain, folliage, skies, oceans ect., load Daz Studio or Poser content, then pose, animate and render in a single, affordable application.

Is it not ALL Carrara specific in that you can load it, directly, into the Carrara Runtime file?

I think the really problem is that Carrara content dont have a good disclosure like other content. I have a pack here at Renderosity but never enter in a newsletter. Thats why I create CL, the showroom have almost all products that you can find here, Daz and other sites so you can choose what yo want in a more easy way.

GKDantas is right.  There simply isn't as much specific content out there. And what is out there, is highly under-exposed.  If they spent as much time promoting Carrara as they do Poser, it would change very quickly.  The Carrara Lounge is great.  I think it's the only place JUST for Carrara specific content.  As a matter of fact, I am uploading a model there for sale as I type this.  It doesn't have much now, but I think there will be a large content base there fairly quickly.  I know I have plans to put quite a bit of content up there.  And all of the other features there make it the perfect Carrara paradise.  :)
