Subject: Can't get Carrera to render a second terrain that's in the same scene

OK, so I'm a total newb to Carrera with v7 but I'm familliar with a number of other aps and don't have this problem with any of them, not even Bryce.  When I start a scene that has a terrain object and add a second terrain object, Carrera only renders one terrain.  What the heck is it doing.  Yes, the second terrain was inserted so it is in the same scene.  Have the same problem with a water object.  It's there in preview, I expand it so that it should be visible but it doesn't render.
It doesn't seem to have the same problem when it comes to DAZ/ Poser content.   No problems at all loading, dressing and posing figures and the render engine does a really nice job on figures.

A little lost on your problem. As you can see from the attached, two terrains rendering without problem.

With the "Water object" do you mean the "Ocean" primitive in C7Pro?
Normally, I would think one would insert an Infinite Plane as the sea water. Or a plane where you had smaller areas as lakes higher up in the terrains.

My first attempt at water I inserted a water object.  Last time I inserted an infinite plane and used a water mat.  Not sure what was going on last night.  May have a memory problem since it  seems to have disapeared today.

Sorry.

By a Water Object do you mean a cube?

No, Carrera 7 has a water object that's just listed as "Ocean" in the insert menu.  It's not very big, so not really much of an ocean, I expect that it's best used for filling swimming pools and bathtubs.

Good, the "Ocean" primitive as I mentioned in my first post.

The Ocean can be "spread "by using the Replicators--which helps keep file sizes down as well.

I also would like to see a screen shot to see where you are having the Terrain problems. Never heard of it happening before.

I s your computer set up to, at least, the minimum requirements for Carrara?

Here is a very rough, quick--poorly planned!--render of 100 Replicated Oceans.

http://www.markbremmer.com/3Bpages/tutorials.html  There are many great tutes here, many free, from our forum supervisor, Mark Bremmer. Have you looked at?

Also, just to think where your Terrain problem originates, did you load them into your scene via the Insert>Terrain dropdown?
