Hello Everyone,

I recently got a new computer (i7 quad core, 6 mb DDR3 Ram, dual NVidia GeForce GTX280 video cards, Windows Vista Ultimate 64 bit) and after installing Vue 6.6 Infinite (latest patch) I have noticed that I do not have any tooltips showing. I have tried turning them on and then turning them off and on again but to no effect. I am running the program as administrator. I have also installed the Vue 7 Infinite PLE and I also do not have tooltips in this version as well.

Has anyone else had this problem  and if so do you know if there is a fix? Is this specific to Vista 64?

I think it may be a windows thing. I have tooltips here, Vista64 too, but to be honest, I don't know where this option is hidden.

I've had this issue since version 6 and it's still there in 7, no tool tips for me!!
E-on were their usual helpful selves with it, i.e. they could offer no explanation as to why!!

Funny thing is, every other bit of software I have that uses tool tips has them showing no problem, it's just Vue 6 and 7.

If you find out how to fix it let me know will ya!!

I had that problem in RHino, can't recall if I had it in Vue 6

In RHino, it's a bit of a pain to get rid of,, maybe worth a shot....

 

basiclaly, for the Rhino bug, the problem was with conflict with a "Pen tablet PC" set up, that Vista automaticlaly put in, wwhen I added my graphic tablet, not sure if it occurs without that.

Thank you for everyone for the responses so far. Silverblade33, I have tried your suggestion but unfortunately have had no success. It really is an annoying little thing but at least the program works well otherwise.

hm GTX, dual quadros? maybe an issue there?

Nah doesn't work with mine, my system is almost identical to yours Silverblade as you know!!

Maybe you use or used one of this performance tolls to tweak your PC (like TweakUi)? Some of this tools deactivate the tooltip animation. I did a google search for you and found a registry hack for this. Sorry German only, but you maybe find another one for English language.

Mazak: I have not run any performance tools on my system, just Windows Vista. Also, the missing tooltips seems to be confined to Vue; they show up in other programs such as Photoshop. I will look into your suggestion however.

The tool tips do work for me in Vue6.6 Infinite and 7.2 Infinite. Vista Ultimate64 with GeForce 8800GTX; 8GB RAM DDR2.
