Subject: Poser 7 Crashing, Please Help!!

GaryChildress ( ) posted Tue, 03 February 2009 at 6:38 AM · edited Tue, 11 February 2025 at 2:31 AM

I apologize if this is the wrong forum for this.

I just reinstalled Poser 7 on my computer after doing a fresh install of windows.  Poser used to work fine on my system with my old monitor, but I think since I got a new monitor (wide screen) now I'm having problems.

Poser constantly crashes on me, usually when I open up a file.  When I first launch Poser everything is fine.  But when I go to open a file it crashes right when the new file comes up on screen.  Please help!

Many thanks!

Gary

No apology necessary.  This the Poser Forum and you have a question about Poser. 😄

Check your video drivers.

I agree with Doc, what kind of graphic card do you have?  You might have to do this silly thing, open poser, rotate your camera just a bit, then start a scene, should be alright.....but still you should update your graphics drivers then add Poser to the control panel if it is Nvidia...Sharen

Did you also install the updates for poser as well?

Thanks everyone.  I did install the Poser updates.  I also DL'd the latest drivers for my video card and that seems to have helped (knock on wood).

Thanks again!

I was having a similar problem.  I use a dual monitor setup and it seemed whenever I moved any of the menus or property windows to the other monitor, Poser 7 and Poser Pro would crash.  So I was forced to keep everything on one screen.

I just downloaded an update for my video driver, but I haven't had a chance yet to see if that fixed the problem.  The weird thing is that this problem just recently started for me.  I don't know what I changed to make the crashes start.
