Subject: Looking for Freebie Gardening Tools

GaryChildress ( ) posted Sat, 07 February 2009 at 8:15 AM · edited Tue, 12 November 2024 at 6:01 PM

I'm wondering if anyone knows where I can fing the following for free.

Pitchfork, rake, hoe or other gardening tools.  I tried turbosquid and came up empty.

This will be for a Civilization III unit.

Many thanks for any help!!

Sams3D had some gardening tools, but I don't know if they're still available. Maybe these will help you:

WG3D has some farming and gardening tools (rather old-fashioned):

Many thanks everyone for the links!!  I also managed to find a pitchfork and pickaxe on Rednerosity.  With all these tools I should be good to go!

Good.  I'm always happy to see Poser used for an educational purpose!

I don't know about educational.  Civilization III is a computer game.  I'm making some unit graphics for it with these tools.   However, I suppose Civ III is a little more educational than a first person shooter!  LOL!

Oooh? You can do that? Are they animated, too?

I never thought of doing my own units for Civ.. Now this is interesting to say the least O.o

I've got Civ IV but it doesn't look like the general way of displaying the sprites has changed much... Oooh ohh.....

You just can't put the words "Poserites" and "happy" in the same sentence - didn't you know that? LaurieA

Civ III is relatively easy to do unit graphics for provided you have the right utilities.  I've never tried making units for Civ IV but my understanding is that Civ IV is considerably more complicated with respect to units.  Civ III you just make one set of animations which are seen from the same angle and zoom all the time.  Civ IV you need to be able to zoom in on a unit to see its nose hairs.  I'm not sure if Poser can be used for this but if you go to the Civfanatics forums there are tutorials on how to create units for Civ III and IV.  :)

EDIT: Yes the units are animated.  :)

EDIT 2: If you ever decide to do some of your own Civ III graphics let me know and I can help you get started.  :)
