Subject: V4 movement/morphs/jcm's

Hullo all,

dumb question I guess, but can anyone advise me please...

so I've modelled some clothing for V4.2, grouped and created an appropriate  .Cr2 file.

Load into P7 and all okay, excpet for:

  • moving V4's 'chest' either 'side-to-side' (Zrot) or 'twist' (yrot) (but strangely, NOT 'Bend' (Xrot), causes an area around the upper shoulder/neck to bulge out, causing poke through in my clothing mesh.

Now this I understand, and assume that there is a JCM somewhere that casues this to happen when the chest part is moved, but I cannot find it anywahere in the V4 .cr2!

Does anyone know what I need to do to replicate this jcm in my clothing?

OR is it the joint parameters 'bulge' at the joint edge?  - as it is conforming clothing, my JP's replicate those of the base model exactly...

any pointers would be most welcome...

Thanks

Did you run the appropriate "Magnetize Clothing" pose file after conforming your clothing?

hi pjz99

yes, I ran the magnetize to V4 on all parts of my model, but none of the resulting morphs made any difference ...

If you're not seeing the JSMs (joint smoothing magnets) have any effect on your clothing item, then something is wrong.  Have you renamed your V4 figure?  Have you ever gotten any conforming clothing from anywhere onto V4 and used the magnetize pose?  This is something that is specific to V4, in my experience very few if any JCMs are required when rigging a conforming clothing item for that figure.  Pretty sure this also applies to Sydney/Simon EF figures.

Thanks pjz99 - i'll have to re-work it all out again - I used an edited base V4 as the donor cr2 for my model so maybe there's something in there that I'm missing
