Subject: An idea that we should all put our two cents on... i think at least

I'm sure its already been said, but what the hell... I'm figuring, why don't we set up an online storefront for photography prints? Can offer multiple sizes for print and whatnot, and it's fairly easy to supply on demand, especially if members use money garnered to buy more paper. Albeit, it probably wouldn't get much publicity on its own, but.... maybe Syyd can bat her nice eye lashes and get some free advertising on renderosity (or at least at firstt to see if it ends up being worthwhile) to promote it. I dunno how it would go over or anything, but it's 2:25am here, and I refuse to sleep. an idea ry

See Slynky that is why I use bands like J.M. Jarre to calm down. I forgot to mention The Art Of Noise! and Select Classical peices. You can slways over indulge in Mountain Dew! Man you would be soo productive. But it could be habbit forming. How much should we charg for prints? Bsteph

I'm all for selling prints here, if it would work. I'm not sure there would be a lot of people here that would be willing to shell out ($80-150 U.S.) for an 8x10 fine print. <-example I could be wrong (frequently am). Either way one never knows until they try. They sell other prints now... time for some photos.

It would work well. Marshmellowpie has already sold an image print via renderosity. Keep in mind that the photographers who submit work to the shop would be the ones doing the final prints. Also it means that the computer editing of digital photos may be a little uhhhhh unreasnable for sale? one of my two cents... I'm not spending it all at one shop =;-P

I dunno, it's just an idea. Everything but our work is being sold here. Mostly, people are buying thingsthey use, but you never know, maybe they want a nice 16x20 hung up on their wall. As for price, I really ain't sure. That would probably be best determined by a poll from other renderosity members on A: Their willingness to actually buy stuff, and B: What's the max they would shell out if they saw their absolute favorite image ever... I'm awake now, WEEEEEEEE!!!! ry

Well, I suppose it is a good idea for those who have the capacity to do it. Don't know how much we could really charge for the prints...I have a problem with selling photos really, even though I was overjoyed when I sold one to someone who'd been browsing my gallery and fell in love.. But I don't want to make much of a profit from it. For me, I would have to charge a lot to keep it all going around, as Norway is one of the most expensive countries in the world..Photopaper costs a fortune, and so does sending stuff through the post. I don't know if anybody would really be interested...and I don't have a good enough printer to sell prints worth selling anyway :-) Still, for all of you who have the opportunity, I think it's a great idea.

First of all, Renderosity has a store as we all know, and they are already selling prints, themselves. You have to understand that 50% of that profit will go to them. Also, I dont know how they would react to us, branching off from that and selling. Please let me look into it. Also, slynky, fyi, I dont bat my lashes, I flutter. Seriously, just so you know, that when you work as hard as I do, you work, not bat lashes.
