Terri Willis, Clint Hawkins and i, have made our votes for the last May-June Carrara/RDS contest, wich theme was "the B-Movie" . I'm proud to announce that the winner is AzChip, with his image "The day the Earth burned " . Congratulations Chip ! Your image brings a dramatic touch to the theme, and the great attention to detail makes it alive . In a word : perfect ! You'll receive a copy of Shades of Reality by our sponsor Hawkin-Z GraF-X . The next contest will launch in a few days . Stay tuned ! litst Carrara/RDS moderator on Renderosity litst.@freesbee.fr

I just want to mention that you guys made it really tough to pick a winner. The scoring was very close, and in my opinion, each entry had at least one thing that it did better than the others. I still couldn't tell you which was my favorite picture. I'm a big fan of Cheesy movies, and all the entries made me want to watch a bunch of Mystery Science Theatre 3000.

Thanks to everyone that entered. Congrats to AZChip. I was very glad to sponsor the contest and hope to sponsor more down the road. Clint Hawkin-Z GraF-X

Wow! What a treat to come home and find out I won! Great job to everyone who entered, and thanks to the judges for voting for me! I'm looking forward to judging the next contest. (And Terri, I'm sure everyone will make it tough -- any suggestions as to how to deal with the stress?) Thanks again!

Congrats AzChip! You did a great job capturing an authentic 50's feel. I especially like the "faint" pose on the heroine. I bet she twisted her ankle - that's how most of those slow robots catch their prey. I look forward to the next challenge -- let me at it!

Congrats AzChip & nice work indeed. Being so close to Area 51 must have been the inspiration?

Hey, I just read AZChip's discussion, and I have to ask: Am I the only one who assumed Dexter Craig was a made-up name? Sincerely, Raymond Luxury-Yacht (Mrs.)

AzChip ( ) posted Thu, 05 July 2001 at 10:13 AM

I think she actually broke a heel; those 50's heroines always wore such practical footwear! <<Chip's eyes go soft and distant>> "I HAVE NEVER BEEN TO AREA 51. I HAVE NEVER BEEN TO AREA 51." And Terri, yep, Dexter Craig was a made up name; originally made up by my great grandparents who gave it to my Dad's Dad, and then borrowed in homage by my parents for me. Seems like a 50's cheap actor name, doesn't it? (But I'm not cheap.... At least SAG scale for this boy....) - Dex
