Subject: Can V3 do a decent muscled female?

Dynamo ( ) posted Fri, 13 February 2009 at 3:15 PM · edited Tue, 26 November 2024 at 2:16 PM

Hi all,
I was wondering  if V3 with ehr muscle morphs can do a "she hulk" sort of character.  My worries are especially her shoulder or Bicep.  Im on the fence bertween v3 or just going wiht the flow for v4...

Does anyone have a render example so I can compare?

I don't have those morphs (At least, I don't think I do...) but you might take a look at the She-Freak morphs for V3. They might get you going in that direction, and, if you're a platinum club member, it's pretty cheap.

There's also a female morph for The Freak here at the R'osity store, if you've got that. A little scary that one, but Hulks oughta be scary... 😄

Yes thats why Im considering it.  back in the day you couldnt get anything to fit She-Freak, but now thanks to many options like morph magic or Tailor its much more doable.

I cant say why, but Ive never liked anything I did with V4, something about the face.  I know i can morph it but she just doesnt inspire me much.  I also dispiked her needing that folder in the main runtime, I liek to keep my main runtime clean for efficency.  Also V4 file size seems crushing to system reasorces..

But Whatever gets the job done is my motto.  I know V4 does a really nice bicep, but the pricing structure and what you get in bundles these days seems less than V3 back in the day.

Touche, I might get that as some sort of Villain (taking my hero to the extreme) but my end result is a good mix of amazonic muscle and attractive.  Im working on doing a comic and have seen some great work by the lieks of SturkWurk.

I like V4 okay, although the last image I did with her I had her wearing sunglasses and I put her a bit further from the camera, so the face wasn't so much an issue. And, at that, I used her in Carrara, which seems to be more forgiving of gargantuan meshes with more morphs than Bill Gates has stock options...

That sounds like fun... I love a good comic, especially one with nice story arcs. I dribble away a lot of my time at web comic sites. Don't seem to see a lot of 3D ones, most of the regular artists I keep an eye on seem to go the pen-paper-scanner-fix-it-up-in-Photoshop route.

Here's to your comic... I hope it goes well. 😄

Very nice work indeed.  Hows that import into carrara now? used to be sort of hit or miss.  Thats sort of the bugger with me, I dont know shes really all that for the huge file size.  isnt she something like the near equivilent of 2 V3's?

On V3 though i hear V4 does not have qyuite as bad a "noodle shoulder".

Thanks, I appreciate it sincerly,
Thats my usual style.  I draw and paint, but really i wanted to do something bigger than my skills or time allow.. so its off to render I go!

I haven't had any problems with Carrara 7... they've got native support for every kind of Poser content. Sometimes the morph dials are a little different, a bump maps don't really translate very well at all. I still often use Poser to build a character, applying morphs, hair, and clothing, and save it in a default pose. Then I just import the whole scene (without camera and lights) into Carrara, and it works pretty well. I put three Michael 4's and two Vicky 4's in the same scene, and it didn't choke... not sure if my Poser 7 would do that well or not.

You can also check in my free stuff here at ReRo Mrs. Bodybuilder for V3 or at arduino.net Mrs. Bodybuilder for M1 or M2 in the freestuff on page 2.

Not a problem, thanks for the help!
Also yourlnk to Arduino is very helpful as well!

Lyrra also has a magnet set at DAZ that has a She-Freak set as well as the muscle morphs if you want to add morphs to V3 clothes. No need for external programs like TheTailor or MorphMagic.
