THE PLACE FOR ALL THINGS BRYCE - GOT A PROBLEM? YOU'VE COME TO THE RIGHT PLACE

Subject: Can anybody help

ILO2 ( ) posted Sat, 14 February 2009 at 7:15 AM · edited Wed, 05 February 2025 at 8:24 PM

I have been using Bryce 5.5 since it became a free download
In the download Daz studio 1.8 came with it
Now I've upgraded the Daz studio to 2.2
If I have made something in Daz and want to use it in Bryce I get an acces violation

Does anybody know a solution for this problem???
I love both programs, but still have to learn a lot about Daz
Shadows in Bryce are easier to do for me, but using Daz in a scene can complete the hole image

I think you may need B6 for that to work, but don't quote me on that.

TB, you know that is not true...

@ILO2: What was the access violation message that you got? What operating system are you on?
Since you are a newcomer, I'll give you a some aid when you reply.

What version bryce 5.5 do you have? you might want to update 5.5 to 5.5c You might want to go to DAZ 3D and download it. Don't go to download.com.

I have the bryce 5.5c
I think that I have downloaded it at daz almost a year ago

I'm not really a newbie at bryce, but I hate that bryce doesn't  accept daz objects

I am going to go out on the wild side here and say to create a manifest file.

Try the following. Run Notepad and enter this text:

<?xml version='1.0' encoding='UTF-8' standalone='yes'?>

save it as "bryce6.exe.manifest"... for Bryce 6 ... for Bryce 5 "bryce5.exe.manifest" or bryce 5.5 "bryce55.exe.manifest"  save it in the same folder as your bryce.exe

Remember to look at your .exe file prefix to determine what to save the manifest as... bryce(xx).exe => bryce(xx).exe.manifest

Don't know if this will help but try it....

Another thought:
Are your Windows XP Service Packs up tp date? Should be SP3 by now...

Thanks ThunderStone for all your help, but it still doesn't work

I tried to "export to" instead of "returning to" and this worked
All I needed to do now was to find all the files that daz had made
It takes a lot longer, but atleast no more trouble

Sorry that I wasn't much help but at least you got it working again... One thing I do when exporting or working with Bryce and DAZ is that I create a folder specifically for the artwork so that it is self contained.
