There was a microsoft update and now my poser pro crashes during launch. Gets to the splash screen then bails out.

I reinstalled the application and SR1

  1. is SR1 the latest and greatest for PoserPro?
  2. anyone else with trouble?

that did not help.

I hate all the time wasted on computers fooling around with buggy crashy updates and stuff. I just want to work, but too much time goes into thrashing around in tech.

I now have no Poser pro functioning.

Pissed off

Check to make sure MS Update did not update or corrupt any of your Drivers. The last update I had on 64 also wanted to install a Driver, but the one I had was already newer.

The other thing to try is resetting the Preferences. That often will fix issues like this.

Do a system restore to a point prior to the update.  At worst, delete the update from the control panel.

Rolled back the update for the video card.

I uninstalled PPro, including searching for any related file and hunting them down.

I found the preferences folder and deleted it.

I reinstalled, allowing it to install in the "Smith Micro" folder, while I usually don't do that

Launch....license.....splash screen....okay.

Open a couple of my pz3s, okay.
Put my master runtime in place.

Exit

Install SR1.2

Now the application will not launch.

Did a reinstall without SR1 and now I am at least operational.

Thanks to all who replied. I can't look for the SR thing now...I have work to do.
