Now that I got your attention, what's the best way to simulate taking clothes off by manipulating clothing for a model?  As you know, clothes either are off or they are on, nothing in between.  Thanks.

There are plenty of "in between" items on the market, clothing with undo morphs are everywhere!

I know about the different clothing out there that can be morphed, I just didn't know if there was something I could do with clothing that has no morphs.  

Well there's always magnets but nowhere near as effective, or you could try dynamic cloth, that can give some nice results if you have the patience to set it up for that.

There's a guy over at Renderotica who could do wonders with dynamic cloth coming off bodies but not sure he'd give any secrets away, his name is Quoom. Be warned though, if you seek him out, his images aren't for the faint hearted!

A lot of that depends on how the clothes are made. You can create a group by using the grouping tool on the area you want to move then use a magnet with the mag zone affecting only the new group.

That's the interesting thing about dynamic cloth.  Sometimes it just slides off even when
you don't want it to. 

I'd absolutely love one where a male's boxers/pants are down to his ankles while standing up....

Making clothing that can be used for posing while being removed is EXTREMELY hard. One major problem is that for conformers if you create a morph that looks ok in the default pose with say the pants down to the knee or ankles, then try and pose the figure the hip/thigh etc groups in the clothing attempt to follow the associaated groups in the figure and quicly become a scrabled mess. I've been struggling over this for a bit now and a "universal" conforming clothing garment that can be made to look good while in the process of being removed has so far eluded me.

On the other hand if you have the patience you can get some decent effects using dynamic clothing, choreographed handleing and th morph brush. If you have a conforming outfit you want to use I suggest importing it as a welded object and run it thru the cloth room using the choreographed handling to pose it. It WILL take some effort and any number of simulations to get it close to what you want. After you get that far use the morph brush to move arround any stray areas and believe me you WILL also need to do some post work to get it looking really good.

If you model the pose your figure and model "static" clothing to suit the pose.

Then again you can always resort to posing your figure and painting the clothing on to suit (if you are that artistic... I'm not, but this seems to be a popular alternative)

I have done some animations with dynamic clothing, taking off a sleeveless dress, bra and panties and putting on a dress as well as getting out of bed under a blanket.  There are some things that need improving, especially putting on a dress.  What it took is a lot of temporary specially made props, a lot of experimentation and much patience.  This was done with Poser 5 and I think it would be much easier with Poser 7.
