i'm learning how to conform :( as shown in the pictures....why is that after conformed ( the blue body ) to the P4NudeMan, the hip moved and forward, and also its got disconnected ? any clues ? tks

Try this.

Load the blue figure.
Turn off all IK chains
Open the joint parameter window.
Click the zero figure button
Select the hip
Zero all hip translations.
Select the body
Zero all body translations.

Go to the Poser menu Edit > Memorize > Figure

Save the figure to the library.

Conform to the P4 Man. It should now work because you will have removed all the preset bends and translations.

How did you make this? By spawning bodyparts? It may account for the unwelded hip, the P4 guy has two hips, one with, and one without genitals.

thanks philc, i'm going to try it out today.

trekkieGrrrl : no, i did not use spawning parts. what i did was,

i load P4man, set it in Zero pose and IK OFF. Memories the figure.
resave with a new name " newP4man"  into the library.
open it with CR2 Editor,
i deleted all the morphs in most of the parts channel, also deleted the genitials and materials.
saved it again.

launch poser again,
load the the 'newP4man" into the scene,
export it as obj for use in creating the cloth (blue suit) .
import it in a 3d program,
deleted unwanted parts, saved it as "cloth. obj " into poser directories

now back to CR2, opened the "newP4man",
i changeg and point the "figureResFile" to the 'cloth'obj", resave it as " cloth.cr2 " into the library.

back to poser. i loaded from the library the "newP4man",
then the "cloth", conform the cloth to newP4man.
so this is how i did it.

am i doing it right ? please advise. tks.

hi philc, i tried it and it work ! tks so much for your tips.
btw, if you read my method used above, is it neccessary to go to the CR2 to delete all the morphs,
genetials and materials ?

PhilC ( ) posted Wed, 18 February 2009 at 4:06 AM

OK cool :)

If you have changed the OBJ then the original morphs will most likely not work so the best thing to do would be to delete them.
