Subject: What's the best way to convert V3 textures to V4

cujoe_da_man ( ) posted Wed, 18 February 2009 at 1:33 PM · edited Tue, 24 December 2024 at 10:29 AM

So, I've made up a texture set for V3, but I want to make the same ones available for V4 without having to redo the ENTIRE set.  I know there are converting programs and some just eyeball it, so what's the best way to do it?

Hi,
I got texture converter 2, it was on sale 40% off at DAZ one month ago.

The results are OK.

Best regards,

forgot to say, it's Windows only AFAIK, and not much support yet for the Poser people
except Miki2 (i.e. no G2 males or Poser 6 people supported as of now) :-(

Yep, TC2 from DAZ is the best conversion program for textures right now.  If you check out the link, this is a V3 Texture converted to V4.

I really like TC. It has extended my collection of textures for V3 and M3 into the next gen of figures. I wish there was support for M3/M4 genital map conversion. Maybe there will be an update of this great utility.

Can you be more specific about the results...I have a V3 texture that I would like to convert to V4...I want to use this for a graphic novel...will I be happy or just so so to the point that I just use V3?  Also, what's a good program to fit morphed figures to their clothes with the least amount of tweaking?

well, texture convertor works really well, though I have noticed you may have to do some tweaking, like if you have tattoos and such, but it does seem to work decent enough.  DAZ also has a clothing converter as well, you have to buy the plugins for the characters you want to use, so you're not spending extra on figures you don't need to convert.  You're like me, just haven't found a reason to switch yet :P
