Subject: Pssst... RU Good with Hair? Wanna make some money?

I'm not sure if I can afford it, but I'd like to start an exploratory dialogue with anyone who would be able to make hair to order for use in Poser. I would give you a photo of what I'm wanting, and the head .obj it will go on. This is just  to produce my animations, so it's not a matter of wanting to (re)sell the prop, and it also means you can start with anything (someone elses work that you rightfully own) there's no "derivative" concern. Of course if you create it from scratch you can keep the rights to sell it.   All of this will be parody stuff, so the hair stylist will be copying famous personages and thus have plenty of inspiration available (the end result will be well defined).

thank you!

You know what, just to clarify, I'm not sure I can state with absolute certainty what I said above about starting with someone else's work...

...but I'm pretty sure that, as long as I buy a copy of anything you want to start with, it should be perfectly fine for you to do work on it for me, if you see what I mean.
This way you aren't passing me a derivative work without the original artist getting paid, and it also means you aren;t selling a model (or derivative of) that isn't yours to sell.

I think you have to buy the item FOR who is working for you, not giving them a copy of what you bought for yourself. And most reputable artists/creators wouldnt want to start from someone elses work. It may be against the TOS, actually, but I am not sure about personal use. My knowledge of copywrite is only from reading the forums here, so someone else will probably chime in with a better answer :-)

Santa_Paints_Your_Picture

As you can see, it "sure don't" have to be perfect for this venue!

(BTW, I am planning on fixing the timing of the painting action by next Christmas :)
I submitted this in a huge rush to get it in time for the peak season, so please excuse and hold off on telling me about this flaw, ha ha!)

but, please also note, I won "Most Innovative Use of PhotoInside" in the hdgreetings winter holiday card contest  (& 250 USD!) with this, and it has been a pretty popular card. So...

I thought the klaus animation was pretty good. $250 - definitely not bad!

That's definitely a compliment coming from you Miss Nancy (I visited your homepage and saw your super-cool stuff)!
