Sorry, Orbital, but the one entitled, "Bryce lunatic escaped from the boolean asylum" is just not gonna sell.

The gallery is a very nice building, and your pictures looks fantastic in big size.
My favourite is the bryce lunatic ;-)

Well yesterday was quite good, had some people coming in, and a guy from Berlin who says he may have some contacts for me. Already sold 3 pieces as well which is a very nice bonus!

Excellent news man! I hope this exposure and your new contacts will be a springboard for even bigger and grander things! I don't know how much time you are able to spend with the youngsters, but if you can, you'll be amazed at how much you learn from them as you are teaching them, LOL.

Congrat's on the sales, Joe!

Looks good, I'm curious how you go about the sales though.  Do the viewers say "I'll take that one" and take it from the walls, or do they have like a reserve stock of prints for each piece of work?

Anyway, again, nice one.
It's extra cool that it's a Brycer with his work in the gallery 😄

Four thumbs up, man !! ... and thanks for the photos ... gives me a sense of what went on ! !

That's fabulous Joe, I just found this thread, and it's great news.

I'd also like to know the answer to Pumeco's question.

Well the ones sold have a little red sticker put by them to mark them as sold. But it is no problem to get extra prints done if needs be.

Good idea, Rosie!  A limited edtition of 500,000 @ $50 each should do it.

Woohoo, Joe!  Looks like you're off to a good start.  What kind of stock are your prints on?  Do you print them or out-source it to a print shop?

orbital ( ) posted Sat, 28 March 2009 at 4:28 AM

Well it's all finished now, had a great time on the open evening. Saw lots of friends and family. Got some kids into Bryce, they were really interested and wanted to know where to get the download. Upshot of the event is that I now have another one lined up for later in the year at a different venue. Thanks everyone for the interest.

I think that's an outstanding achievment, Joe. Congratulations.
So, are you coming to Wales for the next one? We have an Arts Centre here in town that puts on galleries from time to time.

Good job.. well done.. think it's time you put your feet up, and relax near the swimming pool with a tall glass of Iced Tea (the wild kind)!!!

orbital ( ) posted Sat, 28 March 2009 at 8:25 AM

Who knows Chris, maybe one day I'll pack in the day job and start touring. We'll need a bus and some roadies so I'll let you know! Next step really is to start to develop into Matte painting, so this year and probably the next 10 will be dedicated to learning these techniques. I'll still be using Bryce for the forseeable future, but eventually I guess the need to use it will become minimal.

skiwillgee ( ) posted Sat, 28 March 2009 at 12:27 PM

Bryster's family will have the political clout to put you in any venue you want!  I'll drive the bus.

On a serious note, congratulations on the successful show.

Hey, Joe...you've made us proud here in the Bryce forum yet once again...thank you for that. It tells the rest of us that there definitely are other horizons and that we should all conspire to reach them. My heartfelt congratulations on this exhibit and there's no problem predicting further, future accomplishments. Please keep us in touch. Kudos! 👍
