Aloha,

Here is a work in progress of the Chief Science Officer of Enterprise NX-01: SubCommander T'Pol.  The Hair is Tsaris and the Body/Body Texture is Blackhearted GND4. However the head morph and head texture is all by yours truly. ANY constructive comments are more than welcome....hope all enjoy.

Looks pretty good so far.

Looks almost like Jolene Blalock.  See what a slight taper adjust will do-slightly wider from her cheeks up (slightly more of a square face).  Jan

That is the actress that plays Sub Commander T'Pol on the show.

I would like to know how you were able to do the face.  I'm trying to start and make a favorite celeb of mine and I would like to know how to go about making a look-a-like just as you did with T'Pol.

Looking good... one of my favourite actors. The face looks a little long.

Judging from a photo to compare with, the cheeks should be a little more prominent and the lips less pouty.  Her mouth is slightly wider.  Otherwise, all the other features appear correct.

All good suggestions....I'll try them out tonight....Rhyus....I'd get Faceshop Pro, and try it out for tthe Trial period....but honestly Face Shop only goes so far. Once you have the basic shape, you need to go into Poser and play with the face dials and have a good hi-rez photo to reference to....

Rhyus ( ) posted Sun, 01 March 2009 at 7:41 PM

Ok, thanks, I'll look into it.

Is there anything that will map the body as well from photos, or is that going to be all hands on?  Maybe make just a skin?

ArcPaladin ( ) posted Sun, 01 March 2009 at 7:55 PM

Rhyus-If you mean to apply a texture to a body....(not specifically the head) well that's  an undertaking I've only ever done once...its a BIG job if you're not experienced with , say...Photoshop. As for the head....Faceshop Pro will make the texture for the Head, but its useless without making sure you take the time with the head morph itself. Now body SHAPE ....I usually use a good body shot for the background in Poser then line up my figure using the Translate dials then start adjusting parameters...you can usually get pretty close, close enough to pass for the person you're trying to make....

Aloha Again,

Following the advice of those kind enough to give me their two-cents, I submit "SubCommander T'Pol Take 2".  I squared her jaw out a bit, and widened her mouth as well. When checking the reference pictures I have, I also found her mouth was too low so I fixed that as well.

Now, if anyone can find Ms Blalock's height, weight and measurements I can try to get her body morphs done.

Any helpful comments are more than welcome...

Thanks for the Looking Arc~

what causes the black boundary around her jaw?  maybe it's just my monitor.
blalock did a nudie shoot for fhm or maxim IIRC.

Morkonan ( ) posted Thu, 05 March 2009 at 3:33 PM

It would probably help to go ahead and put a default texture on her so its easier to see.  A profile as well would help.

As far as Jolene Blalock's dimensions, I can't find anything reliable other than 5'6" to 5'7" for height.  But, there are plenty of pictures out there of her to use as references.

That's probably left-over shadowing from the image or the hair from the original pic as it's wrapped around the head by Faceshop or a similar program.

Actually, from the original pic in the first post, it looks like the picture was just photoshopped over a render of a figure and not applied to the head as a texture.

The IMDB says she's 5 feet, six inches, MM52 gives her height at 180 cm.

Other information appears to be more closely guarded. 😄

ArcPaladin ( ) posted Thu, 05 March 2009 at 3:38 PM

The black border is an issue with the texture as it was converted from photo references....I need to do some photoshop work to clear that up....As for the profile..that's next. Just need to find a true profile pic of Jolene, not just one that's on an angle...she has this slight bump to her nose that all but disappears if the picture isn't an exact profile....

Arc~
