Poser - OFFICIAL F.A.Q (Last Updated: 2025 Jan 20 7:34 am)
Found a technical problem. BicepFlex morph is not working. The morph dial is in the body menu, but not in the body parts menus (shoulder, and collar (right, and left)).
I checked the cr2 of the figure I was using to create the inj morph files, and everything works fine. I compared the code of the cr2, to m4's cr2 file after I injected the morphs, and they come out the same as to the BicepFlex code.
I then injected all of D3's morphs into M4Blank.cr2, and everything works fine. So I think there is something to do with readscript, as M4Blank.cr2 does not have any of the readscript stuff, etc in it.
Using morphing clothes, and changing the option from creating binary morph injection files to
create a loader file with morphs works.
This option creates a generic cr2 with all the morphs in it (D3's), and then uses a readscript command to inject the M4 base cr2 into it when you load it into Poser. Very strange.

Redid the inj files so all of d3's morphs will work.
New instructions, and new link are as follows:
Want to buff up M4 a bit. Here is a free morphs package to do just that.
You will need rtencoder, and David Body Morphs ps_mr092 from Daz3d.com.
Download M4D3.rte, and decode using the !All BODY Morphs.pz2 file, and rtencoder.
The !All BODY Morphs.pz2 file can be found in this directory:
Runtime:libraries:pose:!David All Mrph INJ.
Then unzip the M4D3.zip file. Go into the M4D3 file and put the runtime in your default Poser directory or the directory that holds michael 4.cr2.
(runtime:libraries:character:daz people:michael 4.cr2)
Then run Poser, load in M4D3 from figures menu, and play around. You can inject all of M4's morphs, etc into M4D3 with no problems.
You will have to do a bit of tweeking with both the body morph, and body parts morphs dials to get things to look right. Every once, and awhile you may need to do a little post work in photoshop as well.
Get the file from here:

This method really works, and has the potential to benefit many figures that are undersupported. Thanks fo an inspired idea.
Because one may not want to use all of D3's moprhs, Morph Cloths by Dimension3D can be used to create injection files for just the morphs that someone might want to use. I plan to make some stripped down injection files from Hiro4, M4Inhanced, and some of the V4 products. This will keep the figures from being too morph heavy (takes up system resources).
I would be interested in seeing how the M3 morphs work in M4. Some of them might be better on the M4 mesh than the D3 morphs.
Has anyone tried WW2 to see if the results can be duplicated? It would be good to see if one or another program does a better job of this. I also wonder if 2nd Face (part of the updated 2nd Skin 2.0) could help transfer over some of the face morphs?

What "CrossDresser" by EvilInnocence does is reshape, and regroup the 2nd Skin (made by "2nd Skin" from Dimension3d) with the morphs already injected to fit the target figure. The Morphs can then be transfered from the refit 2nd Skin to the target figure's cr2 with "Morph Clothes" by Dimension3D.
albertdelfosse has already made a working injection for D3 to M4, which is available at the link above. He may be willing to do this with some other figures. One could always ask. I have WW2, but I need to make sure it is up-to-date, and play with it a little.

I'll prob work on some other figures this weekend. First thing tho is to figure out how to get head morphs to transfer over from D3 to M4.
What would be cool is to get Philc, Evilinnocence, and Dimension3d together, and combine all the programs into 1.
That would allow you to enter a base figure with all the morphs applied, and a figure to apply the morphs to. Hit a transfer button, and all done. Without having to go thru the tutorial process above.
If I can figure out how to do it, I'll create a batch file, or something that will allow one to do just that. One will just have to have 2nd skin creator, Morphing Clothes, Crossdresser, and Wardrobe Wizard. The batch program will just plug in everything to the proper input, and output fields.
Something like the 3D Content Installer by Adrian Hudson that is for sale here.

2nd face? Did not see it when I got a hold of 2nd skin I'll look in my install dir.
Thanks much, ad thanks for all the comments. I'm going to put together a tutorial with screen caps, so things are more clear, and then post it on sharecg. Boy am I going to be busy.

I answered one of my own questions.
I fired up WW2 last night, and I was able to transfer some H3 morphs to D3 (Hiro's R&L BiscepFlex morphs are better than D3's Bicepflex), and some D3 morphs to M3 (M3 has no definition morph). I could not find the hand sizing morph for H3 in the 2ndSkin so I could not transfer it to D3, whose hands cannot be appropriately scaled. The 2nSkin with 2ndFace does list facial morphs from Hiro but I have not tried to transfer any of them yet.
Maybe over the weekend I can see if D3 morphs will transfer to H3, and S3 to A3. Hiro and Aiko really don't have many morphs. I have some extra morphs for Hiro, I think from Netherworks, I will look them over to see if they might add something to the mix. I have to wonder what can be done with Luke and Laura (who also have a dearth of morphs)?
Maybe some one could experiment with moveing D3 morphs to a G2 male, or S3/V3 ,moprhs to a G2 female?
I realize that one needs WW2 or CrossDresser, 2ndSkin, and Morph Clothes to accomplish these morph exchanges. I know it takes some time, and work, and experimenting, but I would have thought that this innovation (which is really amazing) would have generated more interest. Have many people downloaded your RTE D3 to M3 moprhs?

I, for one, think this is absolutely revolutionary. I wonder if something similar could be done with textures ? ... thanks for your amazing work on this.

Yep, here ! ... thanks again !
I am too tired to do much today. I had an exhausting day. I have been using the WW2 standalone version, rather than the in Poser python script. Read the readme text files. You have to apply for the program key to get either to work. It takes a little bit for PhilC to respond, but it is worth the effort.

Just to keep folks up-to-date. I tried today, and WW2 does not seem to transfer any facial morphs to a converted 2nd Skin figure. I tried with a Hiro3 to David3 conversion. The 2ndSkin created by the newest 2ndSkin program (with 2ndFace) from Dimension3D (here at RMP) does creat a 2ndSkin of Hiro3 with facial morphs that are fully functional. WW2 does not tranfer these morphs to the converted figure.
I do not know if the new CrossDresser can transfer facial morphs or not. Some one will need to try and see.
Of course, when PhilC made WW2, and EvilInocence made CrossDresser, I am sure they did not envision this usage. Some future updates, or completely differant utilities may make this possible.

i am sort of new to the idea of the cross character morphs, and was going to ask if m4 could simply accept v4.2 face/body poses.
can i use poses from v4 or even d3 onto m4?
Quote - Yeah it sucks. I put this on the back burner for awhile. Had stuff that was higher up in my list of things to do. I have to get back to it.
This is very interesting work.
I had a question about the process; as I understand it, a second skin is essentially the figure cr2 with the eyes, tongue and jaws removed. So, I was wondering (from a technical standpoint) why the second skin step is needed-couldn't the figure itself be converted and the morphs then transfered?

The Wisdom of bagginsbill:
"Oh - the manual says that? I have never read the manual - this must be why."M2 also has some really great morphs that can be borrowed for M4. I use WW2. It will do hands and feet better than Cross Dresser, but it will not do faces.
2nd Skin strips out the geometry for the eyes, tongue, and teeth. I have not tried to do this process on an original CR2.
Morphs that are named the same as morphs already injected into M4 will load, but they will not do anything.
I normally make directories of borrowed morphs to inject as I need, when they seem to do a better job than the now many injectable morphs available for M4, V4, etc. Also, not all of the morphs for one figure will look good when borrowed for another figure. One can also transfer these borrowed morphs to clothing using Morphing Cloths.
If a new figure comes out, and has few or no morphs, but has Cross Dresser or Wardrobe Wizard 2 support, morphs can be borrowed from other figurres.
Maybe some day some one will make a program that will refit the face of one figure to another. Then we can transfer facial morphs and expressions.

Ok to do this you are going to need the following:
Poser
D3
M4
D3's head, and body morphs.
Dimension3d's Morphing Clothes.
Dimension3d's 2nd Skin Creator.
Evilinnocence's Crossdresser.
D3, and M4 license's for Crossdresser.
This tutorial assumes you have a working knowledge of the programs above. If not Read the manuals, and practice before doing the steps below. I'm not responsible for anything you screw up. Also it assumes you have the D3, and M4 license's installed in Crossdresser before you start doing the steps below as well. Important!!!! Back up your D3, and M4 files just in case!!!!
Ok lets begin.
Run 2nd Skin Creator, and load in D3, and select all body parts other than head, eyes, hand, fingers, feet, toes. With default settings create, and save D3's second skin.
Using Poser, load in D3 base with no morphs applied, and transfer all body, and head morphs to him, and save it.
Using Morphing Clothes, load in D3 from step 2 as base figure, and load in D3's second skin from step 1 as clothing file. Select all the morphs from D3 to transfer to D3's second skin. Then transfer all morphs, and save D3's second skin.
Using Crossdresser select D3's second skin as the clothing file you want to convert. Select from D3, and to M4, and transfer morphs in menu. Then Hit convert to convert, and save.
Using Morphing Clothes load in the D3's second skin you just converted to M4 in step 4 as your base figure. Then load in M4 with no morphs applied as your clothing figure. Select all morphs from the converted D3 second skin, and transfer to M4. Save as M4D3.
Run Poser, and load in M4D3, and then play around with him.
Notice that I did not include the head, hands, and feet, etc in step 1. For some reason Crossdresser died, when I made a D3 second skin, with head, body, feet, and hands together, and then tried to convert, etc. Do steps 1 thru 5 if you want making separate 2nd skins for head, hands, feet. Then use the M4D3 figure to transfer your morphs to (step 5).
The pic below is M4 Uber made from the above steps using only the transfered D3 morphs.
I took M4D3, and applied, all of M4 ++ morphs, M4 Enhanced morphs, Hiro 4 morphs, and Vittorio V4 morphs to create M4 Uber. Just to see if there were any problems with anything.
I'll put together (maybe), a better tutorial with screen caps. It depends on how many people have problems with the steps above.
Use M4D3, M4 Uber, and Morphing Clothes to transfer morphs to M4's clothes. So he has something to wear.
For some reason I can't figure out I can't transfer head morphs using the above method. I was able to get hands, and feet morphs to transfer But I had to do the above doing the following separately (body, hand, feet).
Notice:
If you do not want to do the above read this:
