When I install new characters in Poser, I follow the install directions but keep getting "cannot open........" What am I doing wrong?

that happened to me until I upgraded to propack etc... have you done that?

Ok well the first question is what file is it. But lets see if any of this helps. if it is a geometry file it cant find. 1. do a search for the geometry using explorer or somthing like that. and make sure the file is in the proper geometries folder. if not move it. Somtimes people put the folder information in there zip files and you all of a soden get it put in (c:programfilesposer4exc...)folder instead of where you acualy keep Poser. If this is the case then just drag the out of place runtime folder to your poser4 directory, and your good to go. If this doesn't help. let me know which file, the exact error mesage, and what your doing when you get the error. -Gabe-

It shows up as "cannot open/runtime/libraries/....and such then it has like pp2 file and I also get one that says a newer number that expected and I assume that is for the propack.

If it was made in the propack you get the message newer version. If you have Poser4 it will open any way. If you are getting the out of memory file do a search on your puter for the file name Poser says it can not find. Delete the rsr file with the same name. ron

OK Close out poser. Go to the folder where the file it says "Can not open" And delete the .RSR file. It sounds like it may have corupted. Then go back into poser and try it again. it should work fine after that. if not give me the entire error message. and if you get an out of memory error after. -Gabe-

Also have you updated to 4.03 yet? You might want to it's at www.curiouslabs.com Also you need to make sure the obj file it's looking for is in the right place. Some files are sent to the wrong folder, perfect example is a lot of the Daz files now go to Program filescuriouslabsposer instead of Program filesmetacreationsposer Marque
