There cool.

I bought the Vue 6 Infinite series, and all the custom plant creation ones. I was satisfied. They generally come with some neat bonus stuff like terrian brushes and skies ect. Worth the money i paid i think.

Don't forget to check out geekatplay All their tutorials are free!

When i bought Vue5Infinite a few years ago, i bought a few DVD 's from Asilefx and they helped me a lot to get to know the program.

So the Asilefx DVD 's i have are for Vue 5 Infinite, not 6 or 7...
I have Vue7infinite now and think that the new Asilefx DVD 's will be very informative but for me, i now do what bruno says and look at the tutorials over at geekatplay :-)

I liked them, and like Sirenia, the were for older versions, but did help me :)

Geekatplay has tons of great tuts, and I have web-based tuts.
I find video easier for most things, but written tuts are easier to follow fiddly tech stuff and explanations, IMHO

Thanks for all the info!
What about the quality of their content? Skies, trees, ect; they're on sale, too.

Asilefx also sells stuff on Cornucopia in smaller packs.  Great details - and good prices.

Thank you for all the comments!!

I just added a free page on the site.  I am going to be grabbing bits and pieces from all the content collections and making them available for download.  Only one resource on the page right now, but I do plan on updating it in the next few days.

Working on the next training at the moment, so I'm a little busy.

I would agree with the comments, you can do no better than both "asilefx" and "geekatplay.com" as they both have GREAT tutorials. Also, I think it is geeekatplay that has a Vue 7 book coming out as well. Like I said, both are very nice companies.

On thing I would like to see are more from them about Vue and other topics like importing Poser figures and such. Also topics like beginning C4D, Maya and Modo for making models and such would be a big help if they did them.

Have fun, take your time to view them and you will learn a lot from both of those sites.

I concur. Both GeekatPlay and AsileFX have high quality training, tools and toys.  A couple of things that I recommend from Asile in the bargain aisle is the collection of 300 color maps and the sun reference tool.

chudo121 ( ) posted Wed, 25 March 2009 at 10:10 AM

Hey Monsoon, you got a link for that "sun reference tool" i cannot find it over there.

Sorry, the excerpts never made it to the new site.  I do plan on getting them up in the next few days.

The sun reference tool is part of the Tips n' Tricks series, which used to be available for purchase by lesson.

The organization of the site needs a little work, I am working on that.

On another note, I just finished my new training!  On the site now.
Was supposed to be a 2 hour training product, but by the time I included about half of what I wanted to, it's over 5 hours.

All downloads are instant!

Unless you pay with a PayPal echeck; then you have to wait for the funds to transfer from your bank account to your PayPal account.

On site credit card payments and regular PayPal payments are instant.

**Hi, could you please give me a deadline for the end of your Spring Sale? I'm planning on placing an order but would prefer to wait to order as much as possible at one time to save money.

One other question, will you be offering your last 2 training titles for Vue 7 on CD? I noticed on your website that they are for download only.  Due to layoffs, we had to scale our internet access back to dialup and there's no way we can download those huge files without tying up our phone line for days. Besides, my wife likes to purchase training for me as gifts and nothing can replace the satisfaction of receiving your training in a nice professional package like your previous training.

   Thank You,

   Mike

So let me get this straight...49.USD is the NORMAL price ?

So you meant to tell me that if i do not buy it NOW i will have to suffer a day for a pack of cigarettes ?

You must be joking...count me out :P

Spring sale will be going on for at least a month.

Yes, they will be available on DVD.  In about a week.

"So let me get this straight...49.USD is the NORMAL price ?"

Its really 2 training products in one, being over 5 hours.  Because of the way it is structured, it would be difficult to break it down.  Think of it as more of a bundle.

chudo121 ( ) posted Thu, 26 March 2009 at 6:23 AM

I was joking man, i love your stuff and will be buying regardless,it is worth it :D

I honestly used to think that education should be free till i broke down and bought an asileFX lesson(;

asilefx ( ) posted Thu, 26 March 2009 at 9:05 AM

Thanks, that means a lot!

I am hoping at some point, to get some free training available on the site.
Unfortunately our society does not reward educators, so it is difficult to provide anything for free; and I do agree with you, education should be free.  Only problem is I have made it my profession, and I work 18 hours a day every day, doing it.  Maybe I'll see if educational loans and scholarships can be used to purchase my products :).  I should at least get some sort of tax cut, instead I get insane taxes and bills.

And I know what you mean, I just paid $70 for a carton of cigarettes, was $30 two years ago.  Did they raise the prices again?  I used to order them from Russia for $15 a carton, but then US customs got of hold of them, too bad.

chudo121 ( ) posted Thu, 26 March 2009 at 10:37 AM

I don't know what smokes cost in the US. I left about 7 years ago. I am now living in Eastern Europe. We have a Phillip Morris right here in town so there relatively cheap at the moment. It is illegal to smoke everywhere though so it is essentially useless to have them :P Give me a pm maybe we can work out exchange for cartons :D

I was trying to make a business with free papermodels against donations ... millions of downloads and 3 donations. Then I introduced buying against money and suddenly people were paying. It's crazy but I guess the world is not ready for what I would have thought to be a more mature system.

Anyway, both your tutorials and content products are great! I think I got all Vue6 stuff and am happy with the new Vue7 products so far. I recommend it to everybody wanting to work with Vue seriously! Not only did I learn how to use Vue better but also tips and tricks that helped to save time.

sirenia ( ) posted Sun, 29 March 2009 at 7:58 AM

Aaah.. i cracked..
I bought 4 Asilefx tutorials yesterday and am busy watching them. So far i 'm definitely not regretting this as they are really great !

There is also much material that you get to learn in Photoshop and i really love this :-)
Oh and this time i bought the download versions instead of the shipping ones. You don't get the nice DVD boxes but you can download instantly and watch them righy away :-)

Thank you Asilefx and thank you Geekatplay (also for the megapacks) !

Gonna watch some more now ;-)

Oh, Nick I wouldn't buy smokes coming from Russia on the internet! I once bought a pack coming probably from China. One toke and I had almost finished the ciggie, then I coughed for about  5mn, and crushed the whole pack!

chudo121 ( ) posted Sun, 29 March 2009 at 8:54 AM

I got em out of New York once off a truck once about a million years ago and holy cow what garbage. I know about the coughing thing : D
