Subject: March 2009 - Photography Forum Challenge - Frame Within A Frame

billcody ( ) posted Sat, 28 March 2009 at 8:23 PM

@pd154:

I will hope that it is a real piece of the wall, but I´m sure. The old pieces were real. Street traders sell pieces of the wall till these days to tourists, but I´m not sure if they are real. I think they are "Made in China" LOL.

Yeah, I was there in the first night and strolled through East Berlin with totally strange people. deep in the enemies´territory, and I had no passport with me in this night.  I shudder when I think back at this moment. It could have a bad end in this night. I´m lucky that brain and heart dominated over beton and "people´s police"

Yep, it is real right enough, Wolfgang is such a good friend, he comes over here to the UK three times a year and stays with me and my mother, he would not rip me off for sure the piece is real :)  the piece I have is just a small size about the size of a golf ball and it has some coloured paint on one side, Wolf assured me it was authentic :)

I must capture it one day and dedicate it to you!

for Billcody and PD154 ! I hope this is also a real piece of the wall !!!

Thank you mary, that's most kind of you to post this, and I see you have some form of registration document and a registered number with a signatory, I would say that this is very authentic with those numbers all over it :))

And its also a frame within a frame :)

@mary:

I must smile about the business ideas of some people. I have never seen a piece of wall with an certificate like this, but I´m sure this one here is real. After the fall of the wall the communistic Germany offered us a lot of creative businessmen, who bought all the DDR could offer: Trabant cars, military equipment, tanks, lorries, eastern products and product names - and even parts of the wall.
I know some places with full parts of the wall: They are gifts for politicians and VIP visitors here in Berlin. Some of  the segments are in the hands of private persons, waiting for a good deal. Thanks for sharing!

@PD154:

The world is small: My real name is Wolfgang, too....LOL. This was a very common name in the early 50ies here in Germany. We were 4 Wolfgangs in my basic school class - very creative....LOL

@Lashia:

Cool shot of your sunglasses;  a wonderful and very simple frame shot. Why did I haven´t this idea?  Welcome here!

Hi guys, I'm back from my long weekend!  I got so many frame-within-a-frame shots while I was gone, I've got enough for a whole challenge all by myself.  But ... this is my third one, so I guess the others will languish.  :)

Standing inside a church built in 1887, looking through the back window at the fields beyond.  It's a beautiful setting!  This one will probably make it to my gallery later ...

Another great catch here. I hope you show us some more pics in the regular gallery later, Tara! I have a lot of frames, too - enough for 2 or 3 other contents....LOL

auntietk ( ) posted Mon, 30 March 2009 at 8:07 AM

Thanks guys!  :)  I had a great time thinking about you-all this weekend, looking for shots!

And now ... tomorrow is the last day of the month ... I wonder what Shari has up her sleeve for us for April?

Our Shari always does us proud,

she'll be challenging us all again this next coming month.
I feel sure it'll be a cracker, she really goes all out on this people, in my short time as a coordinator here, I found out just how much work is involved, let alone preparing this monthly treat for us, so I hope you will all join me in saying...

Shari here's to another great challenge and many more to come, you do great work to keep us all happy, keep up this fine work!!!

I think Shari does deserve a (very loud) round of applause for her work here. And all the participants should give themselves a pat on the back for all the great submissions to these forum challenges over the last several months.

I know I look forward to them, AND I've learned quite a few things besides having fun.

They say a picture is worth a thousand words...

So where do they go when a photograph leaves you speechless?

auntietk ( ) posted Tue, 31 March 2009 at 8:46 PM

I agree, Yvonne!  Shari does a great job, and this is so much fun!  :)  I love being challenged to think about things in different ways, and this is an excellent vehicle for that!

Thanks Shari!
