Subject: Help About PZ3

palax73 ( ) posted Tue, 31 March 2009 at 8:41 AM · edited Tue, 12 November 2024 at 1:20 PM

Hi.
I have more pz3 files in my runtime folder. But i can't view them without open poser7.
Is there any way to view them without poser?
Thanks for your advice.

P3dO Explorer Pro will attempt to produce a view of a PZ3 file, the free version is limited to OBJs.

I make a habit of saving a render along with any scene project, even if it isn't completed yet. When I come back after an interval, it's easy to see what was in the file. Coincidentally (or not?) PhilC has just published a Python script which will save a thumbnail along with the scene.

Imagine that ;)

That sounds like a great idea! Does the thumb automatically take the same name as the pz3?

Yes. It works by saving the scene as PZ2 file (which automatically creates a thumbnail) then deleting the PZ2 and saving as a PZ3 with the same name.
At least that's my reading of the script....

Ooh that sounds interesting. Is it something for sale or for free?

You just can't put the words "Poserites" and "happy" in the same sentence - didn't you know that? LaurieA

It's free! Just copy and paste the script on PhilC's page (see EnglishBob's link up above) into a .py file, and put it with your other Python scripts.

Just a note - it will only work with a figure in your scene.

It wouldn't work on my lighting test scenes with only props.

But that's easily fixed.....
