Subject: problem with new trees that came with Vue 7 Esprit

crashnride ( ) posted Thu, 02 April 2009 at 7:53 PM · edited Sat, 30 November 2024 at 2:09 PM

I am unable to load a couple of the new trees that came with Vue 7 Esprit, most notably the green Lime Tree and the Summer version of the Larch Tree.  Anyone else have this problem and is there a place to download a working version of it somewhere?

What happens when you try to load one of these trees? A crash? Vue hangs?

This is a known problem, I had it myself, I contacted E-On support who said they verified the problem.

And yet we still wait for an official fix. In the end after a month of asking they supplied the 2 trees which now work fine. Just send them a support message mate and they should supply the fixed trees.

Hi -
Good to know that this is a "known problem". I have Vue 7 Complete, and it's the same thing. I tried reinstalling a couple of times, but with the same results.
But it's easy to get around, I have a summer larch tree, and a green lime tree  - just edit the colour of the textures for the autumn versions, or edit the bitmap in an PS or the likes. I've made some new textures for the lime tree (beech & oak) and they look okay.
(But I think the geometry - however much you edit the trees - will always look "Vue-ish" .That's why I still rely very much on my static models.)
Happy rendering
