Went for a long walk yesterday and got a couple of decent shots... Hope you all enjoy :)

For those who are not sure... The image above is a Blue Heron. This one is two wood ducks and a sneaky turtle that snuck into the shot. I think he was a comera hound.

This one is a type of Dragon fly called a Damsel (sp?).

Froggy was waiting for a snack... Sorry he is a little soft, but at f-2.8, 1/60 of a second and a lens set-up that is over 12" long this is the best I could do.

I love the frog....I have an affinity for frogs though....LOL....they are all beautiful and I can see though why you like the mood of the last one....The Heron image is so natural, with the stagnant green waters.....Wow....I'd love to go for a walk with you, I might learn a thing or five hundred, that I'd never stop to see or capture!

Neat photos Alpha. Are you in the southeast US??--or maybe Louisianna/Alabama area? Liked the frog very much--and the damsel fly. My lens isn't sufficient to catch my bullfrogs in our pond--they are underwater before I can get close enough, so I appreciate your 'soft' image LOL. Here's a link you might enjoy. @Syyd... Syyd you are welcome to go for a walk with me any time. My guess is that it would take less than 1 1/2 hours drive time for you to get to this place. @bsteph... This damsel was maybe a little over an inch in length. The grass is tall broad swamp grass. @picnic... This was a shot in one afternoon at the Montazuma Wildlife refuge in the Finger Lakes region of upstate New York. It is about a 15 to 20 minute drive from my house. BTW.. Those are some nice bird shots at that site. Makes me want to start focusing on getting some in flight shots, as I have never really worked at that before :)

WEll, LOL--I guess Great Blues DO frequent other places besides the south. I'm thinking of the winter when they migrate and move on down through the wildlife preserves on Delmarva peninsula and down into watery parts of south. I forget they migrate back UP LOLOL.

The pics are breathtaking, Alpha. I'm wondering, you should take underwater photographs, too (have you?). :-) That would be AWESOME.
