Hi Guys,

I was wondering if anyone can tell me if its possible to make changes to V4 Legs.  I know you can change the morphs for Thighs and Shins, but I find them pretty restrictive (all figures legs look similar).

Id like to be able to change the ankle thickness and knees width, as well as adjust the height of the calf and if possible  increase/decrease the shin length and thigh length individually.

I just feel it would make a dramatic change to the POSER figures in general.  I'd be willing to purchase any exsisting program that will give me more control over the leg shape.,.... or If any of you tallented Guys and Gals out there fancy a project!

Thanks for you time and advice

Regards
John

Well, there's Gabriel Blackhearted's Girl Next Door...
Apart from that, you can do it yourself (if and only if you don't change the polygon count ) in applications that allow verts to be moved. (Silo, Modo, ZBrush, XSI, Max, Maya, C4D, Lightwave,...you know the bunch).

Problem can be that the V4 mesh isn't created for these changes andonly allows limited changes

It's not a big deal, you can do it easily enough strictly within Poser with magnets.  Then spawn morph targets once you have them how you want them.  Look into spawncharacter.py:

Thanks for that,  I'll have to read the manual for magnets usage,   as I'm fairly new to Poser.

Thanks for the info and the Spawn Link

Read this thoroughly and watch associated tutorial movies, much more informative than the manual:

Hi There,

Phils tutorial is excellent,............Now Ive created the Leg shape I want (using Magnets on the Right Leg)

How can I apply these changes to the Left Leg?

Symetry, or copy and paste into the Left Shin for example,...does'nt appear to work,    I am reading the Poser 7 Manual but I do find it confusing if your not familiar with the terms.

Thanks again for your Help

You need to create a second magnet on the opposite leg, and mirror the x/y/z location values - the y and z value just need to be made the same, but the x value needs to be multiplied by -1.  Also need to do this for the magnet base and magnet zone.  Also you need to duplicate the scale settings you might have changed for each magnet.  It's much easier to do this via a script (see Philc's Poser Toolbox e.g.).

There's a freebie app called mirrormags that automatically mirrors the magnet for you.

Have a look at Sexy Legs found here. Have used it and the readme explains how to refit clothes and reconform shoes if you shorten or lengthen V4's legs. I have used it many times to give my characters variety.

I heartily recommend the V4 muscle morphs pack to make great legs.
