Subject: Deleting a Brush Set from CS2

helgas ( ) posted Sun, 26 April 2009 at 6:40 PM · edited Mon, 06 January 2025 at 4:21 AM

Is there a way to delete a whole brush set from the Brush Library? I use a lot of Rons Brushes and they do add up. I have checked the Manual but can't find anything to delete a whole Set. It is nearly impossible to delete one Brush at the time. Please help, I am desperate.

Helgas, go to your program files folder and look for the adobe photoshop folder then go into the preset folder and open the brushes folder and delete what brush set you don't want to use any more.

C:Program FilesAdobeAdobe Photoshop CS2PresetsBrushes

The path should look like this or similar depending on what version of photshop you are running.  Hope this helps.

Hi Stew,
Thank you so much for your fast reply. This is so logical and I never thought of it. I always assumed that I should find an option within the program. - Load Brushes (.abr), Delete Brushes (.abr).

Thank you again,
Helga

You can delete more then one brush at a time within the program, just go to Edit/preset manager and while holding the ctrl key, select all the brushes you want to get rid of, then click delete.

Thank you very much Lucie,
Both options are of great help to me. Stew's and yours work perfectly and I can now quickly load a Set and delete it if I am done with it.
I have been using PSD for a long time but never bought brushes. The subject came up only after I discovered Rons Brushes and  installed them all.

I completely forgot about holding the ctrl key to multi select.  But now you know two ways to do it :)

Holding the Shift Key will let you select continuous brushes faster in the Preset Manager.

What more can I say, but thank you again. I will finally become an expert in manipulating brushes. It will become a joy instead of frustration because you have taken the time to teach me some important lessons.
