Subject: Using poser hair as fur?

Can anyone point me to a tutorial on using Poser's hair shop to create fur?

I'd like to use the hair shop to put fur on a human figure.

Poser manual is good .

Basically, it should be very similar to head hair. Use very short hair, but lots of it. give it a clear direction and it could work. Expect long render times, though.

Some users have reported that a complete animal's-worth of hair is too taxing for their machines to render. I have no experience to offer personally, but I'd advise keeping the hair as simple as you can.

Couldn't displacement also work.?... seems there was a thread on lawn grass. Not sure if it would look like hair but a quick test might tell.

Here's a link to an older thread about using displacement to fake fur.

And here is a link to another one that span off from the above link, and contains another picture to use as a displacement map.

I tried the Gorilla Fur thing on the Milli Gorilli. It didn't affect the render time too bad but it made animating a chore. What i ended up doing was animating a naked gorilla and saving the pose, then applying the pose to the hairy gorilla
