Vue F.A.Q (Last Updated: 2025 Jan 24 7:34 pm)
Thanks Chipp, that got me closer, but still not the exact view. I tried a few variations on the concept and still no dice - even when zooming way out, you don't get a true profile view. In the example below you can see how I'm still getting some distortion, most noticeably on the inside, surface area of the tires in the main camera view.
As said, this is much closer and could be corrected in post by pathing out the object and eliminating the extra surfaces. I know this isn't Vue's core purpose, but one would think it would be a very simple option to include for when the need arises... I guess e-on is focused on replicating real world camera behaviors and not fakey views like this ;)
You can set the 'quick render options' in the front/top/side windows to 'final' (or any quality you need)
and do a quick render. You can even set that window to 'maximize' and then do a quick render for a larger image. However you cant save this image (well, I dont know how). You could do a screen capture, would that do?

I’m guessing I’m not searching for the right thing as I’m coming up empty handed on this one, so perhaps the experts out there can clue me in... In Vue, is there a way to adjust the main viewport’s camera to emulate that of the ‘front, top or side’ view. i.e. so that you aren’t getting any lens/focal distortion and seeing a purely straight ahead view of the scene?
In the past I’ve simply adjusted the viewport’s so that the desired view occupied the lion’s share of the four ports, but I’ve run into a need to render a very large technical view of an object and at 10k pixels wide, that’s quite a bit more than I can pull off using this workaround on a 23” LCD. Anyway, I’m hoping this is a simple setting somewhere that I am overlooking, but any and all advice is welcome :)
