Quote - It'd be useful if P7 was broke up in CD sized segments for burning to disk when you don't have a DVD drive!

Most archivers will create split archives, and there are (free) programs that just split/combine files (e.g. HJSplit).

Quote - For real Jen?

Damn I was just getting read to buy P7. Well thats that. I can't burn anything to DVD. Don't even have a DVD player for my puter. Let alone a burner.

Damn it I am so out of date on my system I am seriously getting behind on the tech end of things. I mean I thought it was bad enough I need to update to xp to use certain proggies.

Thanks for the heads up though Jen. I'll burn my copy of P6 to disk now that I know we are allowed too. I didn't think we were though cause of the Eula's wording.

D.

As I already said, That was NOT the case for me and most others who installed Poser 7 directly from our Hard Drives. I can only assume that JenX is special and got a mystery version to install.

You can get a DVD writer for about $30 at NewEgg, and it's handy for backing up other files as well...

As others have said, you can do this with most compression Programs. Contact Support. There may be another option.

They weren't called "Content Parasites" for nothing! ;oP. Where IS Ironbear, anyway?

Quote - > Quote - Yeah, you can, Brian.  And, Poser 7, IIRC, requires it to be burnt to a DVD before even installing.

No it doesn't! I installed Poser 7 directly from the download on my hard drive. When you say it's required, do you mean they strongly suggested it maybe because I know the installer doesn't check to see if it's being installed from a CD or DVD drive!....

Yup, mine installed directly from my HD too.

I doubt I got a special download, it may have just been that, at the time, the only way I, personally, could make it work was burning it to DVD.

That likely was it, Jen... and then after possibly getting complaints from those who didn't want to have to burn it or mount the DVD image, they made a normal installer version.

Currently using Poser Pro 2012 (Display Units = feet)

AMD Phenom II 3.2ghz (6 cores)

8gb RAM

Windows 10 Pro 64bit

It looks like CP has pulled the plug.
At 0500 hours EDST, this was the message,

"Sorry, the board is unavailable."

That would be 0200 hours PDST. Looks like they couldn't wait for their standard business hours to Pull The Plug.

It also shows they ae NOT good to their word, too!  Jumping the gun to piss off customers is as bad as anything else they've already promised to do. It's despicable and dishonest.IMO.  As well as bad business judgement.  A sad day, indeed.

Due to the childish TOS changes, I'm not allowed to link to my other products outside of Rendo anymore :(

Food for thought.....

It was probably because they were taking a major butt-chewing on the board for their "we hate our customers" approach to marketing.

although CP does have a few things i like

Poser the App,  Miki2 and Olivia.

About the time Poser 7 came out i look through the whole store i think.

They had a blue chair, then a red chair , a green chair... A red car, a blue car...

i mean it was the same car and the same chair listed for each different color !!!

Talk about padding out your inventory,

How did they break their word? They said the board was closing down on May 28th and it did. I can't site exactly what time it did shut down, but I do know it was still active until around 8p.m. and by 2a.m. on the 29th, I couldn't get back on. I know, I tried.
