Subject: This time it seems it's finally gone ... (closing of Piaa)

Piaa = Posing is an art ... Hello alltogether, it seems this time my site is gone ... and the real fuzzy thing is ... only the downloads are gone ... It seems Critical Depth has deleted the refering zip-files. This is something (sorry to say that) I dislike - 'cause this will end up in endless e-mails for me or Stormrage how someone can have the downloads ... If the situation is like this that I'm only allowed to have my site there but not the downloads then I will tell Critical Depth they should delete this site totally. Please note: This is not a complaint about them - I know they mean it good - but for me this is not acceptable (fullstop). So once again I'm very very sorry you can't download at my site and I know Stormrage is very busy at the moment ... (so Stormrage if you read this ... please take your time you don't have to upload it somewhere ...) Well, we all know this would have happen some day - so today it seems it is that day ... sorry folks. But I promise to force the development of my CD to have it (with a very very big "maybe" in beginning of September ...) available soon - it seems that's the only answere to keep me away from this bandwidth problems. Once again sorry for all of you who have never had the possibility to be there and grab some stuff - but you know: maybe - possibly - one day it will be back Schlabber

sigh... well thank you for the time it was up. You are a master and I was blown away by the quality of the work being given away free. I have most of what was posted and use it alot, but I await the CD, it'll definitely be on my list. Thanx again!

Thank you for the wonderful poses you provided to us. Good luck on your cd venture ;)

Schlabber, I'm very sorry to hear this, and would like to help if I can. How much monthly traffic do your downloads generate? is it more than One Gig per month? - let me know, I might have some space on one of my servers. Ron

Site Admin Online Now!

Schlabber I'm surprised you weren't notified. It was in May when everyone received a letter from Eric notifying them that all files had to be pulled by June 10 or 11th. It seems you got an extra month after all! I know because John had to take them down and so did the Dreamspinners and Lemurtek. All the bandwidth was something Critical Depth was not prepared for. I always wondered what your arrangement was not to have any banners and to be allowed to keep the files ;)

Hi Kathy - yes me and Stormrage were notified ... and I posted some time ago that it might have gone soon ... well - it wasn't but I know this time would come ... well - that's life ... However - Stormrage is more than busy at the moment - and she has more important things to do than finding a host for my site and upload the whole site again - me too - I simply have to much work to do ... and as I told somewhere before ... for me it's a miracle that it seems I will finish my CD one month earlier ... What should I say - this whole thing just screw me up more and more (you can't know - 'cause you was away some time ...). In my job I have to deal with websites (more than enough) and in my sparetime enough with Poser (again a PC - thing) - please no more things that have to do with this calculating machines (I think you understand this). 2 month ago I spoke of an of-time - I still have not taken this of-time (perhaps I better should have) - 'cause I wanted to round it up a little bit (with this CD) - after that is done - I will definately take my PC (at home) disable it from Power and will have some fun WITHOUT THIS MACHINE in my sparetime (well at the job I can't - you know). I need this badly - but at the moment - no way ... ronstuff - afaik it is a lot more than 1 gig of traffic per month and the whole site is not so small (about 120 MByte) ... and you know ... well read at what I told Kalypso ... So you all - don't take it to hard - you know - only the best die young (sarcastic grin) - but sometimes they come back ... Bye Posing is an art Schlabber

Well, unplug your computer, if you must, but please check your email every now and then. You have a lot of friends out here that you may not even know, and we will miss you, and hope that you keep in touch with us - by this board or otherwise. Enjoy your vacation! Good Luck, Ron

dear schlabber, what you should do is RENAME your ZIP files to PDF whe someone clicks your file he will have an option to either view or to save it. let the person save it and then rename back to zip and OK -- we have your poses. in this way you completely screw the critical depth

Schlabber ( ) posted Thu, 12 July 2001 at 3:18 AM

Well Dunga - this might be a solution ... but I don't want to be unfair - 'cause I was never threatened bad by them ... and (imho) this should not be the way ...

There are alot of people who love your stuff Schlabber. It saddens me to think that your site is just gone like that. All those great poses just gone so the new users are missing out. Couldn't some of use with our own domains split up the files amongst ourselves? I could take quite a few of them and host them in my directory for you. I couldn't handle all of them though. C'mon guys! Most of use already have them. I still have the original zip files of the sets I downloaded on backup CDs. I don't need them to be sent to me, just need the okay to upload some of them to my site. Some could also be uploaded by us fans of yours here to Renderosity and at 3-D Arena and 3-D Commune. We can keep them out there if we all help out. :o) I will also send this in an instant message to you Schlabber just in case you miss the message.
