Subject: Carrara 3D art magazine project

Hello everyone!  ;)

Since the Carrara e-zine project seems to go to the shadows during the days of the birth of the e-zine at the same exact time I wanted to begin my project but since it would have been like a duplicate, I decided to stop my self and see if this e-zine would be released. Unfortunately it doesn't seem to happen any time soon. There fore I would like to suggest my project: It isn't a monthly e-zine kind thing in the first place. I had this idea to make some sort of a pdf gallery of Images made entirely in Carrara. Mainly my intention is to gather many images that are not seen in DAZ3D Carrara gallery and provide people with a gallery that would be more about Carrara it self. Because now we can see more and more and more images of gorgeous Victoria posed in the scenes and little amount of images that doens't include Victoria or Michael.

So I would like to ask many great artist that use Carrara to share their favorite images that are not using DAZ3D store content. Mainly Victoria and Michael and other models unless they are edited so much that the one could never guess it is made from perfect ready made content. The purpose of this is to show more of Carrara's features, that are now being in the shadow of Carrara's ability to support Poser kind figures natively and show modeling, landscaping, design, Character design, architecture, composition and other art expression form features. Everything that we can see little in DAZ3D gallery due to the big focus on content images. Who would like to share and show what solutions Carrara 3D brings and what fun they have I would like to ask to send their images to my e-mail I will provide in this thread and send them to me so I would gather them all together.

The best examples of what this project is looking for can be seen:

http://www-cache.daz3d.com/sections/galleries/artwork/279/43813.jpg

http://www.daz3d.com/i/galleries/0?id=36546&sec=0&_m=d

So what is more than welcome and what should be there:

Images that are and must be rendered in Carrara (can contain post production)
The more it is Carrara modeled the better
 >Must be modeled (or edited 75%) by an artist or generated by Carrara's tree, meta ball or particle generator.
Can contain nudity but it can't be pornography.
Can't include DAZ3D content figures unless they are modified 90% (DAZ3D content is already perfect so the artists doesn't need to put huge efforts to make beautiful art, this project show of Carrara's features except one (Content support (mainly V4 M4 or Poser figures))
hexagon modeled stuff is welcome (you know, it is a brother of Carrara) but you must notify that it was modeled and set up in Hexagon.
Must include Signature of Artist

You are the artist and your signature can be anywhere you think suits the best your artwork, it just needs to be seen.
 >Images doesn't have to be high resolution, this is not commercial project and I don't have intention to make it for print.

It is meant to show great art made using Carrara from scratch to finish. The goal is to show what can be done and get more attention from 3D artist and get more professional people interested in carrara as well as to show that everyone can make great art using carrara as their tool and the ones should not be afraid to do art from the beginning to the end. Another goal is to inspire people. And of course Carrara lost its reputation as strong 3D art creation tool and competitor, it must regain its respected position. People who doesn't think Carrara is serious (and there are many of them) will be surprised.

If you are in, please send your images to: danas.anis @ gmail . com
(sorry, I opened this account for this project and try to avoid spam letters, you will have to remove the spaces between elements)

Would appreciate if you send in your_name_or_nick_name.rar format.

If I will receive enough images, the pdf gallery will appear on the end of this summer (at least I plan so) If I will receive a huge amount of images I will divide it to several releases like 2 or 3 or 4 if we are lucky.

I imagine this project to be something like EXPOSE magazine just this would be Carrara only. If the artist demands, I can put his or her contacts in this magazine and if the one wants, can put a word about him or her self next to the one's art, but the one will have to provide with the text. I am not going to edit or include much of text material since English is not my native language so I want to avoid any misunderstandings. There are two title candidates: Expo Carrara 3D; Carrarexpo. If you have a suggestion, it is welcome.

This is not commercial project for me by any means, the only ones who will benefit from it are: Artists who shared their art, they will be seen. Carrara and Carrara's developers because this project might get more people interested in Carrara. This project output will be free of charge to download and will be not allowed to be sold as the content in it by any means.

If I won't succeed in finishing this project, the images from the artist wont be used for any commercial use by me and I will not violate the artists privacy by exposing their images anywhere else except this project and will not give any contact information unless the artist allows me. the project will be shared in places like Share CG, Carrara lounge or any other friendly community who will help to host it.

Thank you for your participation
Sincerely Danas

P.S. Don't think that the new comer images are not welcome, We want to show that everyone can do it with Carrara no matter a pro or not, don't we?

Ok, since most of the artists who take part in this project stated, these days most of people do their modeling in modeling authoring software no matter whether they work with Maya, Cinema 4D, 3Ds max, XSI, Carrara and etc. We can have images that contains things modeled in other modeling authoring software but they must be modeled by the artist. As long as it shows the power of Carrara it is good for this project.

Thank you again for everyone who support this project and take part in it. We have some amazing images already!  Do not hesitate to take part in this projhect if it makes interest. ;)

Good news, amazing news! the magazine received complete redesign that is now completely better. For my eyes it is so gorgeous and is ready for print if someone would like to print it.

So there is very important thing you will have to view it in view --> Facing layout; also you should make sure that the first page would be viewed as one if your pdf viewer doesn't make it automatically.

Important question to people who submitted images:

Would you like to see your real and full name next to the images or nickname? Most of you presented your self under nicknames, should we leave everything under nick names?

thank you for your answers Wink

Hi Danas, I like the idea to have real names in the images, its more personal and get a better credit for a professional work.
I hope to see the first edition soon, dont forget to  post the links at CarraraLounge.

 sure will ;)

As for the names, while I don't have permission from the people who submitted their art, I can present them just in the manner they presented their art for this magazine. In case someone don't want to reveal real name or sometihng I don't want to cause soemone troubles or something, it all depends on the artists. I would also like to see real names, but well, it all depends on people ;)
