Subject: Bryce 5 upgrade question

Does anyone know if the Bryce 5 upgrade comes with a new instruction manual, or does one have to buy the full version to get one. Just curious.

good question, well to be honest, I would be amazed, given the duration since bryce 4 and the supposed stack of new features, that they would ommit a new manual. In my experience previously, bryce upgrades have been exactly the same as their full brothers, new box, new manual , the lot!

Yes the upgrade version does come with a full manual. I havent gotten to go through much of it but seems like it is a decent one.

I just purchased the Bryce5 upgrade. To answer your question a new manual is included. The only problem is that the upgrade does not work. I have been waiting for two days for a response from Corel on this. The upgrade asks for a serial number from a previous version of Bryce. I enter the serial number from my copy of Bryce4. The install program claims the serial number is invalid. I have tried a dozen different ways to enter the serial number with no luck.

Call this number (posted from the corel newsgroup) Customer Service 1-800-772-6735 ( then press option 3) They will give you a serial number that works I knew about this problem before I installed and called them first and got a new number and didnt have any problems.

Tammy, thank you very much. I called the telephone number you provided and I was able to get a serial number that would work with the install program. Now I am up and running Bryce 5...wooohooo!!!!

Two questions about bryce 5. Does it support twin processors ? And Does it suport twin monitor display ?

kromekat ( ) posted Fri, 13 July 2001 at 9:07 AM

There would be no reason why it wouldnt support twin monitors that i can see since all elements of the interface are detachable. The twin processor question is one that I have been wondering about, but from what I have heard, Bryce will only support single processor rendering except when on a network via TCIP. This seems like an incredibly stupid oversight from Corel! - Particularly given that they have optimised it for OSX on the Mac which is completely MP savvy!! - DOH!

Thanks for the info. Shame about no twin proccessor support. Here's hoping for Bryce 6.
