Ok, so I finally remap the girls so that I can make separate eye textures for each eye (yay!) with an "eye" (no pun intended) toward using reflection maps on them. The textures for the new UV's fit like a glove. Why is it then, that when I add the reflection maps, they go off somewhere into the Poser universe? I mean, they're *really* offset. Anyone have a clue?? I can't even post a render because they don't show up...they shift completely off the eye.

I'm using Poser 7 btw...

Show your material setup.

Renderosity forum reply notifications are wonky. If I read a follow-up in a thread, but I don't myself reply, then notifications no longer happen AT ALL on that thread. So if I seem to be ignoring a question, that's why. (Updated September 23, 2019)

Sure, I'll put up a screenshot, but the reflections are going on the same way and in the same place as the eye maps ;o). Give me a couple...

Note that the eye map shows up fine in the bottom left screen, but the reflection map gets cut in half. I mean, I remapped this eye to allow separate texturing of both eyes, but if it works for one map, it should work for the other.

Here's what the reflection map looks like.

Well! That's a puzzler, isn't it?

Your setup is fine. It would appear that Poser is not reading the reflection map image correctly. Poser did not change the vertical scale. It looks like a total botch of the decoding. See how the last row isn't finished, and a bunch of rows are missing in the middle. The upper blob is mostly cut off, while the lower blob is mostly there, not squished like scaling would do.

What format is it? You attached a GIF. Is that the real file you're using or a variant you made for the forum attachment?

If it's really a GIF, try saving it as a JPEG instead.

I loaded your attached GIF into Poser Pro and it shows correctly, not like your screen shot.

Hmmm...I'll try that (changing it to a jpeg). I could use gifs in Poser 6 tho if memory serves without problems. A new glitch...LOL.

Thanks bb :o). I'll let ya know how it turns out.

Lordy, that was it bb! That really is peculiar. They land right where intended if it's a jpeg.

Thanks so much!!

If you got a new computer since P6, it may not have Quicktime. That's required for GIFs to work in Poser. Poser doesn't provide any error messages if Quicktime isn't installed. It just won't render GIF textures.

I do have Quicktime.

I suppose I'll just do what my Poser seems to want tho and keep it a jpeg ;o). Less fuss.

Glad it's solved. I just got the ebot - a bunch of really late ones just came. I've not been getting ebots from Rendo on time lately.
