Subject: New Drivers & Poser throws a fit?

Has anyone else noticed this? One day you're happily fiddling in Poser & all of a sudden it starts acting up, graphical glitches, performance drops through the floor, it crashes at the slightest provocation.

You go to the website where you get your video drivers & find a new version has been released that very day. I've had this happen every so often & every time it's on the day they release new drivers. What's going on?

Online Now!

 yup

typically, Poser acts up before I update, so whenever I get a random series of crashes, I figure it's time to go see what's the latest greatest driver for my GAC.

nVidia perhaps? Never ever seen this problem with Poser and my ATI gfx card at all. Technically if all works fine and you don't update either you shouldn't have a problem at all.

Due to the childish TOS changes, I'm not allowed to link to my other products outside of Rendo anymore :(

Food for thought.....

Yep nVidia, it just struck me as rather odd that the day new drivers come out the older ones start playing silly beggars even though for the whole time since install they've been fine.

It's just a coincidence.
Poser really doesn't want to be installed anyway, and it spends a certain amount of its time fighting against your computer after an install. I think what you're seeing is that its regularly scheduled battles just happen to coincide with new Nvidia drivers, which come in roughly 30 day cycles.
Next time you reinstall Poser, do it on about the 10th of the month and you shouldn't have this problem anymore.
