Hey all... I'm sure this question has been asked and answered on this board, but I can't find a suitable answer. I'm using the Michael model. I can't seem to get rid of the geometric eyebrow ridge (see image). Is there something I need to do to UpperEyebrow or Eyebrow that I'm not currently doing? Right now Eyebrows has no transparency, and uses the same texture map as the SkinHead (couldn't they have come up with a better name than SkinHead?). The UpperEyebrows settings are 100% Transparency Max and the transmap is "Michael Brows + Lash" downloaded from somewhere.

Hi, I do not have Mchael, but Vicki has the same eyebrow problem. At Vicki it works like this: UpperEyebrow colour: white, Transparency 100% other values to zero Texture: NONE Try it out at Michael, may be it works, too

I got it... I just had to set "Eyebrows" Transparency to 100%. Thx for your help!

Well, that really isnt a solution -- it just hides the problem. What you need to do is do a search in free stuff for Brow & Lash Trans for Michael (grab the one for Vicky as well). Then apply that transparency to both the upper and lower eyebrow materials and set the material color to black or brown or whatever color you want his eyebrows to be. Eyebrows painted on the texturemap don't even come close to the realism that is achieved by layered transmapped brows. Good Luck

To clarify my above post -- load the Brow & Lash Trans map in the Transparency map field and then set the Min/Max transparency values to 100%. Do the same for the lashes (I see you already have a transmap loaded but you should set the object color to a darker shade).

Thanks for the tips... I've spent most of today playing with facial texturing (in lieu of actual billable work...) so I'm starting to get the hang of it. There's really been some great help to come from this forum.

Thanks Shadowcat! Hey, do you use a custom brush to paint those with? I can draw eyebrows with my colored pencils but can't seem do to it on the computer to save my life! I use Paintshop mostly, but I do have Photoshop and the brushes are interchangeable..... Liz Pope Dreamspinner Inc.
