Poser - OFFICIAL F.A.Q (Last Updated: 2024 Nov 08 8:41 am)
Yes. Copy your poses (hopefully you put them in their own directory folder, otherwise you'll have to root thru the pose folder and just pick out those few.
For setting up freebies and external runtimes, I already have a folder set up with empty folders, i.e.: Runtime/libraries/Pose:Materials:Characters...etc. You'll need to put your poses in the Pose folder inside the libraries folder (which, in turn is inside the Runtime folder). Then you can put your runtime with Poses anywhere you want to and link to it from within Poser.

Just create a folder called "runtime" and copy your pose files to the same path IE: runtimelibrariespose
Then when you open poser, click on the very top blue folder in the library. The one with the curved arrow. Click until you get to a folder that says the version of poser that you have IE: Poser 6
Next follow the picture instructions I've attached
"It is good to see ourselves as
others see us. Try as we may, we are never
able to know ourselves fully as we
are, especially the evil side of us.
This we can do only if we are not
angry with our critics but will take in good
heart whatever they might have to
say." - Ghandi
Simply browse to the runtime folder. Select the "runtime" folder, not a folder inside it. The runtime will be added to your library.
I suggest giving your runtime a name, such as "My Poses" or something along that line.
I have several dozen external runtimes.

plus many, many, many more. It makes finding things very easy because everything is so highly organized.

I am assuming that the advice Acadia and LaurieA is already common knowledge and the real question you are asking is: are there easier ways to transfer files between runtimes? Other than using your browser to transfer files, you can useP3D0 Explorer. It is geared towards 3d model usage and interface friendly. And it is free. Since you are interested in just transferring your pose files, this should make it easier. Just make certain that your new external runtime follows the same convention as your main folder.

I recently started saving some original poses in my Poses folder in my main Poses library
and now I'm beginning to accumulate quite a few.
Is there a way to move these to a folder in an external runtime?
I couldn't track down info on this anywhere. Or I'm looking in the wrong places.
Any assistance will be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
