Subject: Materials to Mat pose issue...P6

DarksealStudios ( ) posted Sat, 04 July 2009 at 7:15 PM · edited Sun, 26 January 2025 at 3:38 PM

Hi,
I'm in Poseer 6...

I have created 22 mats for eyes on near-me. Then, converted all to matposes by changing file to pz2 and editing to say "figure" insead of mtcollection or whatever.... All were created exactly the same way... yet over 20% dont work as a matpose...all still work as a material.
I made sure to move the mouse or click on something else to be sure its not a refreash issue.

This has also happened on another one of my products (approx 20% of another project has the same issue)

Any ideas?

Also side question.... for the last 3 days I have experienced a major slow down in poser, i installed 500mb worth of content and now its acting like a slug... had 6-7 gigs of stuff before and never had this problem. Nothing on my laptop is running in the backround. I can't figure it out. 7.5gigs to 8gigs I souldn't see this kind of reaction, right?

Nothing comes to mind.

Can you post examples of the failed MAT poses?  It might be something as simple as a missing bracket.

  KaColor 0 0 0 0

figure {

I see here when i pasted the bracket after figure is in a different place one the one that doesnt work... yet i never did any spaces or hit return in any of the files. All i did was replace mtlcollection with figure. Could this be the isssue?

Hmmm....very odd. It looks to be in order - what I can see of it, that is ;o).

Here's a snippet of one of mine and it looks the same for the most part:

version
    {
    number 4.01
    }
figure
    {
    material iris
        {
        KdColor 0.996078 0.996078 0.996078 1
        KaColor 0.00392157 0.00392157 0.00392157 0
        KsColor 0 0 0 1
        TextureColor 1 1 1 1
        NsExponent 128
        tMin 0
        tMax 0
        tExpo 0.6
        bumpStrength 1
        ksIgnoreTexture 0
        reflectThruLights 1
        reflectThruKd 0
        textureMap ":textures:AllenArt:Kali_Kelm:Eyes:AAKaliKelmEyeTeal.jpg"

Try something like putting a hard break after figure on the one and before figure on the other (where a bracket and figure are on the same line - I noticed the bracket and the word figure are on the same line, unlike mine). I'm sure that won't do anything, but it's worth a shot. It's the only thing I can see that's different. If the hard return doesn't work, try a space.

Mine don't always work right off the bat either unless I open them and resave them again. Poser's quirky ;o).

Yes, that's the problem.  You've unintentionally removed a carriage return on that line, and Poser is having difficulty parsing the file as a result.  Add a return immediately after "figure", so the next bracket is on its own line, and that should fix things.

Glad you like them.

There seems to be a missing carriage return in the snippet you posted, also (if this is meant to be a complete file)  two braces missing off the end: {

version
 {
 number 6
 }
figure <span style="color:rgb(255,0,0);">{</span>
 material rEyeWhite
  {
  KdColor 1 1 1 1
  KaColor 0 0 0 0

Should be: {

version
 {
 number 6
 }
figure
 <span style="color:rgb(0,255,0);">{</span>
 material rEyeWhite
  {
  KdColor 1 1 1 1
  KaColor 0 0 0 0
  <span style="color:rgb(0,255,0);">}<br></br>}</span>

Thanks, i guess when i highlight and paste i unintentionally deleted the reture that is "unseen" in txt. I'll give it a try.

ANYONE have an idea why poser is slowing down so much after installing just an additional 500mb (from 7 gigs to 7.5gigs)  ???

Is there any way to speed things up within the program itself??

I'm in P6, (on a 64bit version of vista, i know that doesnt mean squat), allocated 16gb of Vram, 4gb of physical ram....... Its so slow!!!

As I understand it a 64 bit OS will run 32 bit applications but with the normal 32 bit restrictions , like only 2gb memory available to the application.

only 2 gigs?? But originally i wrote

There was a slow down for no reason I can see... does anyone else experience a slow down when adding more content? I wouldn't think so but now i'm not so sure....

Mine seems to be less sluggish when I externally link runtimes rather than plop everything in Posers runtime folder.

I found it!!!!!

I was running OpenGL instead of SreeD... I didnt think it made a difference so i didnt pay attention to what I left it on. Switched it back to sreed and now its back to its good old self.

I do have a new question though......

I'm making some morph injections. I dont' have (and wont get) inj magick or any other 2ndary program to help out. I've made my morphs, saved as a new figure. Made my pz2 inj file... but I'm missing the full body morph I made when I try to use the inj file. I still have all the little morphs I made in each body part area, but the full body morph dial thats in the main figure does not show up in the in injected file.

Can anyone help, or show the way to a tutorial?
