What OS and RAM do you have?
Vue7 does have a higher RAM footprint than Vue6 (as discussed already several times in this forum) so if you were near the limits with Vue6, now in Vue7 you're probably over the limit.
If this is the reason, the best fix is to upgrade hardware to a 64 bit OS and lots of RAM (I have 8GB and several of my scenes used 5GB).
Yeah Vue 7 needs a lot more ram to load things. I have one file, for example, that loads into V6i with about 70% free resources (after purge) and in Vue 7 it loads with 14% free (2GB ram).

Rutra, Flak, thanks for the input. I'm using XP with two megs onboard. The question was why if the scenes are nowhere near the limit in V6 (these were simple) then why the difference in V7. If I check my memory usage the difference in V6 and V7 (just for the programs) doesn't seem to relate to memory usage with a V6 scene loaded up in V7. It was just one of those "Hmm this seems to be a little off. Not a big deal I can out the same scene together in V7 and not be over the 50% mark. Just wondered why.
Rutra 8 megs huh!!!! I'm waiting for windows 7 to see if Microsoft gets it right, then maybe a bigger, better, faster etc, etc.
You probably mean two gigs, not two megs. :-)
IMO, two gigs is too low for V7 but if the scene is really that simple, then it may not be the cause. Do you have the latest build of V7? I remember that in the early releases the program choked with large groups of objects. I also experienced a sluggish behavior with some of Walli's grasses (from C3D). I don't know what was in that object that made it like that but it happened. Maybe you could try deleting the objects one by one until you find the culprit.
Regarding Windows7, Microsoft said that if you buy Vista after June 26th (if my memory serves me right, please double check the date) you're entitled to a free upgrade to Windows7 when it comes out (which should be before Christmas). Every expert, every review says that Windows7 is great.
I think you firstly should look into your OpenGL settings in Vue. Most problems like this come from there. "Background draw thread" is a key element. Change the status of that and see whether it changes something.
Resources and polygon count that are displayed in Vue are connected to the OpenGL draw quality, not really to the real polygons in a scene. Keep that in mind.

I have taken sveral Vue 6i files and tried to upgrade them in 7i but when I load them into 7i the program litterally chokes. These (6i files) were not elaborate nor complicated when done in 6i but 7i tells me that I've used over half my memory and sloooooooows way done. Any fixs?
