Subject: Canon 60mm macro

has anyone used the new Canon 60mm macro lens and care to share your opinion? I am considering buying it

Looks a nice lens for sharpness Richard only downside it is an EFS so if you upgrade your camera to full size sensor you are stuck.. The background blur in DOF is less pronounced and  the Extenders will not work....

thanks for the input.unless I win the lotto, I doubt if I will be able to buy a full frame, although I would love one

Richard, That is one I have looked at too. From what I have seen shot with it at the Canon Forums it looks like it does pretty well (link of some shots with it above). The EFs thing is only a drawback if like Dan said you plan to upgrade..

Although if you can save a bit more money up, might want to go for the 100mm. Love to see what you get with it if you go for it.
