Subject: VICTORIA 3

Dear Friend: I own Poser 5/7. I own the Victoria 3.0 model with head and body morphs pack. My question is how can I apply a morph to my Victoria 3.0 character that would morph the face into an African Amerian character or/and into an Oriental character etc.? Thanks a lot. Sincerely, Fidelity2.

You've been here since 2004 and don't know the answer to this question? Sorry just seems strange to me, I thought there was a morph or two in the marketplace as well as freestuff. Also if you own her morph packs you should be able to use those. You could probably do a search and find the answer in the threads here, I seem to remember that being an issue with V3.

Humm see you just do pastels in the gallery so guess it's not so strange after all that you don't know poser. There are tutorials for morphing here and at other sites, lots of info out there to help you.

Doesn't V3's head morph set  include ethnic morphs?

If you have the head morphs loaded, select her head and you should see morphs like HdAfrican, HdJapanese, etc. Turn the dial to 1 and the face should change. If that doesn't work then perhaps something is wrong with your setup.

4 African and 8 various Asian ethnicities. There are dozens more in the various stores.

Do you have to be so harsh?

I know some people who are still using V2 and P4 (not even Pro Pack for that version).

I haven't used viki 3, but in 4 you had to go to the poses tab and inject the packs as poses.  After that you need to select her head and there should be a bunch of dailed morphs for her head... but remember this is 4 I'm used to and it could be different in 3.

The way to inject morphs has not changed between V3 and V4.  If you are looking to change facial features or ethnicity, you must select the head to show thoses dials.

I agree with you, nyguy, the comment was rather harsh.  There is no need for that behavior.

Very different in 3, only with the former, it has the ethnic morphs in them (e.g.: HdAfrican, HdAsian, HdSlavic, etc), where the latter you have to use what morphs they had.  How I wish that version 4 would have the ethic ones like 3 did.  I never did quite care for their Head Morphs in 4, just my opinion.

There are quite a few  v3 head morphs in the free stuff section, but they are buried.  I'm talking about the morphs that are done in other programs for use here that don't need the V3 morph package in order to function. One way to tell is that the size is usually under 1 Megabyte.  By combining several of them you can get several different races.  Here is a partial listing

!CV! Daniella
4blueyes (Ariane, Catalina, Micheline
ABG Inezza, Jessy, Lynn, Mary, Suzanna
Tootie
Willow_4_v3_SAE
MotherDaughter
Nathalie2

The morph of each consists of one dial which adjusts the whole face (from zero to one or more with incremental changes in between.

Most of these are clustered around the same area within five pages of each other, also if you go to some of their sites, more morphs are available-all free.

Additionally, even though you can't use some of the others without the pack, you can use their body textures just fine.

There are a ton of free morphs to turn V3
into any person you want to. It might take
a little digging but the morphs are out there
to be had. It's fun checking out sites to see
what they offer.

VC, just a question, have you found that some of these morphs can be used without the head and body morph pack. If you have purchased the pack, you would never know and everything loads quickly no problem.  However, if you are cheap like me and haven't purchased the pack (well not exactly cheap, just have a dial up modem--okay cheap), loading these morphs causes a lot of misery, one gets the message can't find Asian figure, please locate and on and on for over five hundred functions and at the end states "sorry can't load morph tough and get over it" or one can do a Cntrl-alt-del and get it over with quickly.

The ones I have listed were done in ZBrush-I think and don't need that pack support.

Some morphs don't require the morph pack and are new morphs created for a character. Others are dial spins using the morph packs. Right now, the morph packs are on sale for $3 (part of their oldies sale) at DAZ, so it's probably worth getting. If only one can be afforded, the head pack is the one used most often.

If download speed is the only hitch, go to the nearest library because it probably has free internet access (in the US at least).  Download to a memory stick. If you have a netbook (old refurbished 7' and 9' ones sell for $150 and  less) or laptop, there are many wireless locations that provide better than dialup download speeds.

True- broadband is the way to go and it's worth it to
get the faster broadband. It costs more, but worth. I
learned super cuss words waiting for dialup to load
now with broadband it's done in super fast time. And
yes you most likely need the morph packages. Like MLP
said they are on sell and cheap too.
