Poser - OFFICIAL F.A.Q (Last Updated: 2025 Jan 09 3:46 am)
Yes, existing WW2 figure support files will work in Poser 8
Is Wardrobe Wizard part of the Content download? I've just downloaded the Poser installer and installed that because the Content won't download for another 11 hours :( I can't believe how slow it is. And trying to select WWMenu under Scripts does nothing so I assume it's part of the other download.
How would I go about installing that? The .pdf with the instructions said to merge all downloads and then install but I just couldn't wait till tomorrow.
Edited to add a question for Phil. I have WW2 already. Would I have to move any of my files into a new directory to use in Poser 8 as I don't suppose the P8 WW will support all the figures I have for WW2 right? Or should I use WW2 stand-alone and not the WW in P8?
When you started Wardrobe Wizard from the Scripts menu did you see a pop up message stating that the script had initialized? If so did you follow the instruction in the second part of the message that said to open the Python script window?
Alternatively start by opening the Python script window and click the first button labeled "Wardrobe Wizard"
WW2
You can copy the data folder files from earlier versions of Poser over into Poser 8
WW1
The data files for WW1 have never been compatible with WW2. That was pretty much the whole point of the update. Which figures are you not seeing supported by WW2 that were supported by WW1?
I meant that you should use the Poser menu "Scripts" > "Wardrobe Wizard Menu" but you can start it that way if you want, the Poser menu method will just be less clicks. However if you get that error when you try and run the script Python Shell.py it would appear to indicate that Poser is not finding the core Python modules.
Have you rebooted since installing Poser 8?
What do you get if you try and run Python Shell.py after a reboot?

Dizzi reported a similar problem with another PYD (see linked thread).I'm beginning to suspect that it's going to be C runtime library DLL mismatch that causing the problem.
What version of Windows are you using ?
The same thing Phil, I must be missing a peice or dll. I tried using the listing in the scripts menu as well and I get the same message for the Python Shell.py and nothing for Wardrobe Wizard. But the other ones like Dimension3D's stuff work. Python comes as part of Poser yes? so I should have it, maybe a bad download.
What should I look for in the instalation folder?
I'm using XP X64
Life is hard, but what a ride.
When I start it from Window/Python Scripts I can run WW - haven't had time to do anything but the Make Art button works :)
It's just when I try to access it with the one-click solution from the Scripts menu that I get nothing at all. Running Python Shell also gives me the same error message as stepson.
Other scripts work, for example delete lights from Utility works fine from the Scripts menu.
Oh forgot to add, if I go Scripts/WW I get nothing. If I then open the python scripts from Window menu, WW has already initialized and I'm in that menu. So it does initialize but I get no message or anything.

Hi Phil,
well, they are supported, but I see no upgrade option. For WW1 I had the V4 addon, and
Ingenue Vickie 3 support. For WW2 I only see those figures by purchasing at full price the V4 package again, plus Expansion Pack 6. It would be great to have those integrated in the P8 WW.
I see an upgrade option WW1 => WW2, but not for the figure packs.
Best regards,
Michael
P.S.: Almost forgot to mention: It is great to have WW integrated in Poser 8. For non-WW-owners, this could be one major reason to upgrade to P8, as WW alone is worth half of the upgrade price ;-)
!st time using WW. I did the analize fbm but dont know how to convert that to the clothing... is there a full rundown of the version in P8? is that the version that the link is for PhilC?

In chapter 26 of the Poser Reference Manual.pdf, there's a detailed guide to using Wardrobe Wizard in Poser 8. The reference manual is installed in the same folder that your Poser 8 program files are installed in.
I'll take look. I'm trying to convert the Alyson bra to add my custom fbm. I did the steps but there must be something I'm missing OR.... none of the fbm's on the bra work to bvegin with...they work body part by part but my fbm is not showing there either...I'll read the manual.
You should also look through the useful README files for the clothing. These describe how superconforming can be used to apply base figure's Full Body Morphs to the conformed clothing items. The README files are found in the folder you installed your Poser 8 content.

Hey PhilC, quick question....
So I have P8, and want to have support for Hiro 3, what do I need to do? Will one of the expansion packs do the trick? I see Hiro listed, but didn't know if thats the same as Hiro 3. I also don't know if the expansion pk is for P8 version of ww2.
Please let me know!
Yes Expansion Pack 2 has the #3 figures and as the page indicates the same support files work in Wardrobe Wizard 2 and the new Poser 8

Half way down the page you'll be able to download a free utility which will make it easy to copy your existing WW2 support files into Poser 8.
It is always best to check if you are not sure.
I am always happy to respond :)

Could PhilC or anybody that knows please confirm whether or not the additional figure packs for Wardrobe Wizard (pre P 8) will work in the Wardrobe Wizard within P 8..?
Thank you.
