Poser - OFFICIAL F.A.Q (Last Updated: 2024 Dec 23 7:38 pm)
Yup, I've seen this error many times already.
It may result from files with the same name in different runtime folders?
My python page
My ShareCG freebies
I noticed the folder shortcut problem and have deleted all of these which has helped.
I did wonder if it was files with the same name but it seems to be very inconsistent if that is the problem. For instance I have two sub folders from the same directory tree one containing files 1-24.cr2 and one containing files 1-48.cr2, yet when it loads it always complains about 19.cr2 but none of the others.
Oh well, one for the first service pack. And if anyone solves the problem in the mean time let me know.
Cheers
Though, not having P8 now ... waiting everytime with Poser for a SR1 until buying ... but you may try this:
Have a look if you have some png-files (icons) without the neccessary cr2-files.
It may be that the library finds this and is searching for the missing library files. Or also vice versa ...
Quote - In my case it reports the path as starting "D:Poser 7Poser Data..." when it should be "D:3D DataPoser Data..." to hit the correct path.
This is a old normal behavior of Poser if not finding something in the right path. Then Poser is crying for mama and that means going and searching in it's install directory. Nice to know that these bugs are there in even a new release ... it's everytime nice to meet old friends

Is anyone else getting a message when the library loads saying "Failed to retrieve file times for" followed by a path that doesn't exist but is similar to an actual item path, then "(error 3: the system cannot find the path specified.)". No idea why this is generating an incorrect path for these items. Any idea what I can do to fix this, I've tried to reinstall the items but the problem doesn't go away.
In my case it reports the path as starting "D:Poser 7Poser Data..." when it should be "D:3D DataPoser Data..." to hit the correct path.
This is only happening with 3 items out of the hundreds I have.
