Hi

A lot of my characters dont work anymore, i have a lot of characters with custom morphs and the morphs are not working anymore, these are all new characters. And i have problems with rendering, poser crashes al the time. Anyone else with these problems???

How have you added the runtime content. Did you physically ADD your runtime to poser 8 runtime... or did you just click the add runtime button in the library tab?

I havn't used any old character content yet, but I think (don't know) it's an important question. No crashing on my side. I clicked the add runtime button.

I use a external runtime and i import it to poser 8 with the add library button, the rest is working fine bud a lot off my custom morphs not working anymore.

I've had some morphs not work in Poser 8. But these were brand new ones I've made for Alyson, so I wasn't sure if it was just because there was someting weird with the new figures or not.

Which characters do you have problems with? And what kind of morphs are they? Totally custom or dial-spin morphs? Dial-spins work fine as far as I can tell, but custom made morphs made in another program (Blacksmith3D in my case) did not. Not on Alyson at least. I haven't tried if my older morphs for other characters still work. You're making me worried here O.o

Have you tried re-initializing your V4 and M4 morphs? Do they still work in P6 or 7?

DarksealStudios ( ) posted Fri, 07 August 2009 at 5:13 AM

my custom morphs are working for alyson just fine, im just having issue with the pz2 ( TG see my other thread).

I'll have to try other custom morphs and get back to you S.

EClark - my V4 morphs works fine. What I had problems with were new ones. Not the dial morphs included with V4 :) Since I never moved the runtime V4 et. al. resides in, reinitializing them shouldn't make any difference.

I know the SM people are monitoring and commenting on some of the posts here. I hope they address this one. I was ready to purchase Poser 8 until I read about this issue. I have a lot of custom morphs for V4 I made myself and would hate to jeopardize all that work. I recall after I bought P7, I had some issues with V4 working and got very little help from the Poser software people as it was not a P7 supplied figure. I can't recall if that was before or after SM purchased Poser, so hopefully we see some attention to this issue from them. If any of you who have had this problem get a resolution to this, please post what you learned.

You might also want to alert DAZ if it is indeed an issue with their figures. At the very least it might be something they can help you fix.

Question: Is it that NONE of your character morphs are working or just that some or certain ones are not working?

sahejaa ( ) posted Fri, 07 August 2009 at 12:14 PM

Yes some off them work and some not, very strainge and ik have no idea why

TrekkieGrrrl ( ) posted Fri, 07 August 2009 at 1:44 PM

OK I think I know what's wrong. And it's a serious issue, too.

Poser 8 cant load CUSTOM morphs. Injections doesn't work properly anymore. I just tried with my Sevvie character, which works fine in Poser 7, but in Poser 8, the morphs won't load AT ALL.

And they're all custom made, in Blacksmith3D.

Daz's morphs, the base and the Morphs++ works FINE.

So... Something IS broken when it comes to injecting morphs. If they're Daz morphs, they apparently work ok, but everything else does not :(

I'm posting a ticket regarding this. It's a major bug.

TrekkieGrrrl,

Thanks for looking into this and posting your findings. Can you tell, if the custom morphs are already loaded into a figure and then stored in a pz3 file, does P8 read the morphs correctly then?

Thanks

Mark

TrekkieGrrrl ( ) posted Fri, 07 August 2009 at 1:52 PM

An update now I've been poking around more in this... PMD injections works fine but those are rarely made for Daz characters. It might be a fix for merchants though, at least as a temporary solution.

Sorry, crossposted earlier.

I just tried with a saved CR2 of my GoldenBrown for Sydney and she loaded with her morphs just fine.

Then I tried loading some of my older files that contains morphed characters. They all loaded fine. It's like something is broken when custom morphs are injected. I'm about to check if there's any obvious changes to the file format or anything.

 OK.

The Daz morphs are loaded with a ReadScript line that calls a pz2, which calls a pz2 which calls a pz2 L with the actual deltas in it.

My morphs, and I bet a lot of other people's custom morphs, are loaded with a set of lines like these:

valueOpDeltaAdd

Figure

BODY:1

AlysonFace01_TG

indexes 114

deltaAddDelta 1.000000

numbDeltas 1220

deltas

{

It seems this does no longer work in Poser 8.

HELP!

I CAN change all my morphs to Daz style injections, but I'd rather not waste a lot of time on that if it's something that is easy to fix.

I just had this happen with Hadley V4.

The problem is that the new library is not loading extensions that are in upper case.  I changed "+Had_HeadINJ.PZ2" to "+Had_HeadINJ.pz2" and it worked fine.

I hope that helps. :)

Netherworks ( ) posted Fri, 07 August 2009 at 4:51 PM

Trekkie, are any of your extensions upper case?

Actually.. the ones I tried turns out to BE in Upper Case. Interesting. I'll try renaming them and see what happens. I hope that's the solution!

It should still be fixed though :)

OMG OMG! IT WORKED!

So.. Poser 8 CAN do DeltaAddDelta but it cant figure out what to do with a PZ2 as opposed to a pz2. Heh. Oh well, that ought to be easy to fix... I hope...

I have had Poser 8 since it came out, and until tonight I had no problems with these issues (I just built a new character from ground up using Poser 8) - however, after talking to a friend, I noticed that some of hers werent working for me.  I checked her INJ and REM pz2 to see if there were any differences between hers and mine, and overall I dont see anything out of place.

Came back to add... EVERYTHING of mine that I loaded included a custom morph and mine all loaded without issue.

I noticed some weirdness in cases where say it had to call Aiko 4's head to .500 (on V4) it would load MY custom morph, and all the daz morphs EXCEPT the Aiko 4 one.... odd
