It was probably just a glitch, but the Freaky Friday sale category had P8 for $1.99 for the full/upgrade version. When I clicked it, it was at the normal price.  It was half way down the list of sale items, so maybe it was legit at some point. P8 disappeared from the list when I refreshed the screen. Since the program is new, I didn't have much hope of getting it at that price.

Probably just a glitch that they caught pretty quickly.

I think $1.99 is wishful thinking. I know they're doing an 'email special' on it at $199.00 for the full version until the end of August (if you register on the new site you should get an email to that effect, failing which find the link to their newsletter on their home page and you should see the same offer there).

EDIT: from SM's homepage click on Content Paradise first, and the newletter link is at the top.

no, EFStarlet said there would be some copies for 1.99 at some point over the weekend....I just hope that wasn't it.

 It was NOT a glitch. Starlet said yesterday that they were going to throw a few Poser 8's in at random times and anyone lucky enough to grab them could have them at that price.

It was there at 3:53pm Pacific time, so I got it. Was a little confused at first when I clicked the poser8 icon in the salesgroupview list and poser8 page came up with the hybrid price showing $249.99. But then I clicked the menu list, and Mac Full and Windows Full versions were $1.99. Good luck to all who try to catch this deal in september.

I just thought the whole thing was a mistake, so didn't try to do much to get it at the time.

 I've got a copy. If they give out some more 1.99 copies, they will post it on Facebook, so no, it's not a glitch.

My ISP let me down yesterday, I had the worst connection since swapping from dialup all day.

I just read about it in today's paper, I don't feel so bad now, anyway I think I've sweet talked my missus into paying for an upgrade early for my next Birthday (11 months away). I may be joining the Poser8 ranks later today. :D

It wasn't a glitch at all, I do think it was more of a CP Facebook promotion. I found out by accident and was lucky enough to be awake to catch the special offer. I'm now a $1.99 Poser 8 owner and I still can't believe I was that lucky. I had to stay up late, it was around 1.50 am or so when I ordered (3.50 pm CP time).

I've just installed it and I'm now checking how much the rendering times have been improved. My first impression is wow, P8 is cool, but I've got much more digging to do.

Must be nice to get these emails. I have yet to get one from them, even called and asked about it and they said they would "take care of it". So far nothing.

I stalked it for 12 hours and missed it...
And I guess it will be the same thing in September (given I can stay near a computer all day to start with)... sigh

Don't feel too bad, they were all sold out in less then 5 minutes...they were limited in number. 

I had mine ripped out of my shopping cart.  I put it in the basket and went to do a last scan to see if there was anything I really really wanted and when I went back to purchase, it said item not available.  I stupidly thought that if you put something in your basket it would lock it to you for the duration that you were on the site.  WRONG!  I know better now and will purchase instantly if I get lucky next month.

Great for the folks that win these specials, but disappointing for most of us who miss out. I can't help thinking that this sort of game leaves a lot more folks disappointed than it leaves happy...

WandW suggested it in the Rendo forums, and we decided to take him up on his idea.   Yes, it was a VERY limited number, and yes, it was not widely advertised, but it was not a glitch.  Just one of those things where it paid to be in the right place at the right time. 

I did mention it here, on the Poser and Content Paradise Facebook pages, and on the CP one gave 30 minutes of a window.  You do not have to be a facebook member I believe to book mark those pages and view them, we will be adding a lot more promotional things there, and doing other promotions in different areas.  There will be no more $1.99 P8 this month, but perhaps a few more copies will show up next month!

Anyone in other time zones who has been up in the middle of the night for recent promotions - Pay attention Sunday at midnight Pacific time.  The last few weeks we've thrown out some figures and additional content for free in the Sunday Steals, but in limited quantity, and they go live right at midnight - so maybe better timing for you.

I think "www.contentparadise.com" might be a pretty good place for this...  Not all people have Facebook accounts, and many don't want to have one.   :-/
