Poser - OFFICIAL F.A.Q (Last Updated: 2024 Nov 28 11:20 am)
I'm using a Wacom CTE640 on an Intel Mac. No problems here with over-sensitivity in Poser 8.
Do you have a second screen, with the tablet mapped across both screens? I found that this caused over-sensitivity, so I have the tablet mapped only to my main screen now. It's a pain having to switch to the mouse for the second screen, but I generally only use the tablet for Photoshop anyway.

To be honest, I did not see a particular problem with Poser 7 or Pro either when I had my tablet going over both screens - only the overall sensitivity increase which happened for all apps.
Let me re-map my tablet to both screens and see what Poser 8 does. Back soon.

Mapped tablet to both screens, and everything working okay, I'm afraid. It's more sensitive to pen movements, of course, but only in proportion to the increased screen area covered, no more than that.

Hi ratscloset
If you mean me, no, I didn't do anything special. I just used the tablet config screen in Mac System Preferences (Control Panel on Windows, I suppose) to select whether the tablet covered one or both screens.

I have the impression as well that Poser 7 and PoserPro handled working with a tablet better than P8. I use an Intuos 3 (and I use it for almost everything, I could as well put my mouse into the drawer) and when I use the pen to rotate the icon instead of typing the value even the slightest pressure is enough to make the camera spin like crazy!
Another strange thing I found is that when I type in a value with the number block on my keyboard Poser 8 does not accept the decimal comma (german keyboard and english P8) any longer while P7 and PoserPro (english version as well) accept it and use it light a point. That's a bit annoying...
I'm not always right, but my mistakes are more interesting!

Regarding the decimal comma, that bug has already been reported to SM.
I have the same thing happening with the tablet - I had not noticed this before. Bug report....

I only am using one screen with my iMac Intel Duo, 2.8GHz, 4 Gig ram 10.5.8 and Intuos 3 tablet.
When I had checked Mouse Input:Tablet Mode in the Poser 8 prefs props and figures were skittering about and sometimes jumping halfway across the pose window when I clicked on them ..
I unchecked Tablet Mode and it all behaves much better now even though I AM using the Intuos mouse and tablet. The pen however was too hard to control either way.
With P7 and Pro I did use my pen all the time with no problems .
Now with Tablet Mode unchecked in P8 sometimes it starts that behaviour but then stops again a few minutes later.
Seemd to stop when I do a 'Save' on the scene.
Have reported this too.

Good to hear that the comma problem will be fixed. It's not a biggie but once you are used to use the comma as a point it makes working easier and more fun.

Hi,
I was wondering if anybody finds the Wacom tablet too sensitive? When I click on a bodypart of the model it already makes a big move.
I did check the tablet mode checkbox. I'm using an intuos 3 on intel mac.
