Subject: Cant keep James pants on

charlesatlas ( ) posted Fri, 07 August 2009 at 4:14 PM · edited Sun, 02 February 2025 at 12:41 AM

Hello

I have this situation and I would like your advice.  I am doing this animation and I took the poser figure james and added to him a pair of trunks.  The only problem is that when I move him the trunks stay in the same place.

I also dressed Brutalis and the Freak but they have no problems.

Please advise and thank you

Did you conform the trunks to him? Sounds like no.

Which pants/trunks is it? Some of James' clothes are dynamic so you can't conform that like you probably could with Freak and Brutalis :)

If you're using the dynamic ones for James you'll have to parent them to him and then run a clothes simulation in the Cloth room. Don't worry, it's not hard at all ^_^

You just can't put the words "Poserites" and "happy" in the same sentence - didn't you know that? LaurieA

No I tried the conforming clothes found in Poser 6 like the jeans or the boxers but they still dont stay on.

Please advise and thank you.

Did you conform them after you loaded them? Go to the Figure menu.

Figure>Conform>The pick James from the drop down list on the popup.

Got it..thank you..just never had that problem before..thanks again

Charles, there are two options, one is conform to  and the other is in the Object drop down menu >Change parent--change it so the shorts are parented to the hips and see.

It might be off in frame 30, if so, move the shorts there and see if they stick when you move or adjust your figure.

Maybe part of the boxers is conforming the rest is dynamic, check in the Cloth room and see if the shorts come up under clothify.  If it's dynamic, it will show up there.

Also some clothes are sort of fuzzy, you will need to place them exactly on the figure in the zero mode. Both for conforming and dynamic.  Jan

Uhm you can clothify ANYTHING in the cloth room, not just dynamic clothes. So it's unfortunately no guarantee if it shows up there or not.

But I just checked and all James' default trunks and shorts and briefs are apparently conforming. Odd, though. I would have sworn I had a pair of dynamic ones.. but perhaps they were all the way back in Poser 5? I checked my Poser 6 and 7 runtimes...

His pants!  Every time I add a pose or a prop/figure to the scene, J6's gens visible pops on.  Even if I lock the body part.

Misty, If you gone to the hierachy drop down menu and unclicked the genitals?  Jan

Yep.  A few dozen times.  It's like he gets really happy to have new company in his scene.

But, he keeps his shorts with him.

I've got a witty joke to say about that, Misty, but I don't wish to be warned or blocked, so I will keep it to myself, and giggle like a madman about it. :)

LOL, yep!

Okay back on track:  I only have Poser 5, however does Poser 8 have the ability to unclick that function in the figure drop down menu?  Jan
