Subject: Poser 8 Preview Window Performance

Aku ( ) posted Wed, 12 August 2009 at 3:44 AM · edited Thu, 23 January 2025 at 11:47 PM

Hi all and sorry for my bad English.
When i use the preview window to rotate the camera , everything is ok, i mean is faster. When i try to rotate the lights or try to bend part of figure like V3 or V4 the performance decrease like i use the software engine (SreeD). I don't have the same experience with Poser Pro. I also try to change values in the Poser.ini but nothing is changed. I have a high end computer Q6600, 8GB Ram and G295GTX. Is a bug or something else? Thank all. ^^

There are a couple of things you can do to make the preview quicker, change to smooth shaded & fast display tracking, i've always found V4 to be a system hog anyway no matter what I do.

Windows 7 64Bit
Poser Pro 2010 SR1

You are right but the same scene is working perfectly on Poser Pro and then loaded in poser 8 you have "lag" effect on it. :)

Sounds like it could be a bug then, best report it to Smith Micro & lets hope they include a fix in SR1.

Windows 7 64Bit
Poser Pro 2010 SR1

Same here, two different systems with Nvidia cards. Bug report it.

Partial fix. With the graphic driver at default settings Poser is setting the OpenGL quality really high for anti-aliasing and ignoring the program settings.

Close poser and open Nvidia control panel. On Adjust image Settings select the Use My Preference button. Slide the slider all the way to the left (Performance). This will get you some speed back but not to the level of Pro.

Having the same problem. Thanx oddbob, that fix did improve my experience a bit.
