Attached Link: UNERWATER CAUSTICS 01

For those that have interest. Here is a pre-set under water scene. That can be examined for your approval to use as you see fit. Suggestions are always welcome.

I was hoping to see an image with a render to decide if I should download, that's why I asked.

I downloaded it and opened it. Here's my impressions:

a) the render settings are set to "user settings" and "compute physically accurate caustics" are not on. So, the main theme of the image (caustics) are not seen unless the user changes this. This puzzled me a bit. I thought that a newbie could have problems.

b) because of the above, I opened the material and saw that you simulated caustics by using variable transparency. So, this is really fake caustics, not physically accurate caustics. I must say I didn't like the result very much.

c) in the render settings, other settings are not too good and, again, a newbie could have problems: the advanced effects settings are too low, the optimize volumetrics is on which decreases the quality of the volumetrics, optimize last render pass is on, which decreases quality.

d) In the atmospheric settings, light tab, the quality settings are set to zero. This unnecessarily increases render times. I typically use negative values (-3 or -4, depending on the situations).

e) the angle of the sun and of the volumetric light you used are not the same. This causes light inconsistency.

I knew I could count on you thanks for the input. I will make some changes. :~)

En primer lugar muchas gracias por su ayuda señor.

Recuerdo la primera vez que se inició con el programa. Usted me dijo que hacer grandes cosas. Donde la correcta. Su trabajo es increíble.

I made the changes that you recommended and the improvement is very noticeable I think. Thanks again for your help.

Any other suggestions on this pre-set are more than welcome jefe.

I will up load the new scene shortly if you have interest.

😄
Thank you, I'm glad you like my images. But I'm afraid my memory is very poor, I don't remember talking with you in the start of my adventures with Vue and I don't remember having said that to you. Could you please refresh my memory with the context of that conversation? Thanks! :-)

Note: thanks for your spanish, although I read, write and speak english much better than spanish. My native language is portuguese, not spanish. :-)

Nuts I thought I could practice my Spanish.
Rendering the scene presently will upload picture and new zip when done.
You don't remeber because you don't know who I am. LOL no big deal really.

Now you got me intrigued... :-)

Ok, made the suggested changes. Also, noted some good points from SilverBlades tutorial. The results are much better. IMHO> but I’m just a hack. So if you can give a moment to look let me know your opinion. Thanks

This link is a picture. Took a bit longer to render than I thought. But well worth it.

Ok so I just figured out how to insert a pic. LOL

I don't have time to analyse this in detail, but it seems to look better. I'll study it as soon as I have the chance. :-)
