Subject: Semi OT, Poser & Spore related question.

With the latest patch for Spore we (all 3 of us still playing) can now export our weird & wonderful creations to Collada format, now my question, HOW do I get them into Poser?

Please make it easy & cheap (preferably free).

ps there's potentially 100million different creatures waiting to invade Poser.

Poser exports collada format, but does not convert it into poser format at all.

You can try this http://earth.whoola.com:8080/space/collada. I have not tried it so I don't know if it will work.

I know Gareee, theres nothing like getting exited & let down in the same minute is there?, nyguy that whoola thing only converts to collada but thanks for the link.

I've just found Animeeple which almost does it, it actually gets half way through loading a dae & throws up hundreds of errors, i'm now downloading Meshlab which they claim can do both import & export, wish me luck.

I found a fixed link http://croftsoft.com:8080/space/collada/ but it doesn't do what I want, so close.....

Not close at all, actually. I'm sure you could use blender to extract an obj from a collada file, as well as textures.. but thats still and unrigged figure, and I'm willing to bet that the grouping and poly flow/density for spore creatures isn't poser freindly at all.. and THEN you also need to rig them, BUT you cannot redistribute them even if you do.

If ther's now simpe rigging transport between major 3d applications liek lightwave, max, modo, n such, I hardly think that we'll see one that magically makes a spore creature posable in poser anytime soon.

You could probably use them as static props though, and as a matter of fact, that might be cool in Vue for otherworldly scenes...

Poser 7 Pro or Poser 8 Pro? cause if it's 7Pro I'll be kicking myself for the next week for uninstalling it.
